I don't have experience with the Swift but I believe you will need to run bigger battery packs.. There is a swift-tuning.com site out there with good info... |

Nitro: The frame is too flimsy and the main shaft will sometimes bend on spool up. Mine did that and it is just sitting. You can't steer during auto as it is not a driven tail. Parts are generally inferior. You need all kinds of upgrades unless it comes with it already. If you look at the new price, Trex600 Al minus motor & ESC ends up being $50 more than Swift.

And each battery will cost you 2 times as much. You really can't compare the 600 with the Swift, the 600 is much larger. If set up right, the Swift is a nice machine. The early ones had some serious issues with vibration, ground resonance, and other things here and there. The later kits have had these issues fixed, and are supposed to be very solid. Parts are like all Century parts, maybe they are good, maybe they aren't, the quality control is a lot like Align in that respect, but in general, they are good, and inexpensive. I was looking at buying one a few months ago, and was also looking at the Lepton. I decided to hold off until the T-Rex 500 shows up. Should be about the same size, but with the better distribution and parts cost of Align. Last edited by Eury; 04-17-2007 at 09:30 PM. Reason: Edited for accuracy police. |

I thought about the lepton, but it still a pretty small heli. trex/mini titan 325mm blades lepton 425mm swift/trex500 500-550mm .30 sized heli trex 600 600mm blades .50 sized heli Ion X 690-710mm blades .90 sized heli I hear you Red, I would like to get a 600, but for a high power setup I would need to go 8s or 10s. Those packs are a bit out of my price range. I might be trading my loaded mini titan for one with a tango 45-10, 6s pack, 80A esc, 401/9253, and some bling in the right spots. He's done the mods to it to eliminate the shakes.

http://www.justinchi.com/videos/2007...ex600-RCRC.wmv The other guy sounds like a Century sales man. I would like to buy a 6s swift battery for 1/3 (TP packs) at what $100? where? If it is 1/3 of align pack, then swift battery can be had for $66? I have both and it is my unbiased opinion. Swift 16 is not worth it.

Yeah, I'm a Century salesman because I disagree with you and related something that I read. You're just the guy who's an obvious cheerleader for the companies you are affiliated with, and I'm affiliated with no one. I don't own a single Century product, so I'm thinking I'm not a Century salesman. Check your facts before you throw accusations like that at me. http://www.centuryheli.com/products/...=338#batteries Look at the third pack, the Century 4s 4000mah pack for $109, pretty close to 1/2 of the cost of a T-Rex pack, is it not? True, not 1/3rd, so I've gone back and edited that post. I thought they were around $250 for the Align packs. Last edited by Eury; 04-17-2007 at 09:35 PM. |

Eury: I like to cheer for the companies that produce good products or services. I am affiliated with the companies in my signature. I am not affiliated with century or align. However, I do own both. Couple that with the fact that with my profession being an engineer, I can make a fair judgement in quality and value. Fair judgement require enough experience in that product and I believe I do as I own both. If you say you don't own a single century product, I don't know where your valuation comes from.

Question my judgement on it all you want. My post was never to discount your experience, it was simply to point out that the 2 are not in the same. It would be like someone coming on and asking about a Raptor 50 and you saying that they suck, and the guy should buy a Stratus instead. You decided to snipe at my first post needlessly because I said that packs were much cheaper on the Swift and that they had gone through a number of revisions that addressed the weaknesses. My experience comes from flying a friend's Swift, and doing a great deal of research on them and the various revisions about a month ago when I was in the market. Out of thousands of posts I've read on them, you are the first to say that they are trash beyond the early adopters. If you hate yours so much, box that thing up and send it my way.
