I like to know the percentage of heli pilots among us. PiccoZ and the like are not allowed. I would cosider any size heli as long as it has full cyclic contol but collective is not necessary. For example Heli-Max RotoFly and Blade CX will qualify |

I have been flying them on AFPD for a while. How realistic are they? Thought about getting a little electric job. A buddy just offered me a Blade CP Pro that needs a crash kit.

I started with heli's then switched to airplanes, but I still enjoy flying both. Lots of fun, I just hate working on heli's, major PIA. Jay |

Get G3.5, Reflex, or Phoenix and you will do fine. If you want to go cheap, try the Trex 450SA or go Trex450SE for more money. Instead of looking at the heli prices, look at the crash list item costs. Trex 450 is limiting. If you look at the top pilot's videos, you will notice they can't to 1/2 of what they do on bigger birds. For starters, my recommandation is Raptor 50 Titan. When you want to move up, consider MA Stratus. | ||||||||||||||||||

FS one is SOOOOOO easy ... I was doing stationary flips and rolls and attempting all kinds of tricks, I thought I was the MAN.... I thought i picked the "heli" thing up quickly, well I jumped back on G3.5 and was like WOAH.... DAMN... I still suck.... Now after a lot of practice I am pretty profecient on G3.5 and I'll be taking out my electric heli very soon (Just have to finish programming it... thats the worst part of helis.. the radio programming.. OMG!!!) But RED, you nailed it FS one is WAYYYYYY off with the Helis...

After IRCHA, I vowed that I would master these things, I've come a pretty decent ways and am flying Helis only for now. Been hard core on it since JULY, and have seen the sim help a ton. I agree, AFPD is not necessarily the best, but I have had good luck with a RAPTOR 90 that I downloaded for it. It feels pretty darn close to mine, and I just use the sim to teach me the "theory" on how to do moves. I then go out and burn fuel by gallons a week.
