Help! OS 50 Hyper Surging

Hey Guys,

I think I've been flying planks for too long....

I've dusted off my shanks and have started reprogramming them with my new 9303. Anyhow, I noticed that my OS 50 hyper is surging when in idle up. I can't remember if I should richen or lean it at this point?

I recently replaced all of the fuel lines so I'm pretty sure there isn't any air leaks, but it has been a few months since I was flying it hard and that was back when it was a lot colder out than it is now....

Thanks!

Its surging enough to make the tail wag. The fuel is fresh too. I just checked my needle valve settings and the high end needle was out almost 3 turns! Not sure how that happened, I've dialed it back down to 1.5 turns and I'll see how it does in the morning....

I have had the same problem after letting them sit to long. What happens is a glob of crap develops inside the carb from sitting. You have to open the main up and help blow it past. Then it will be rich as can be. The way to fix this is take the main valve out five turns and blast some fresh fuel into the input nipple with and electric fuel pump. This will get the globs blown out and it should start running at about 1.75 turns out. 90% of the time your having trouble with a Hyper it is not enough fuel. See if this trick works for ya. Later JD

Thanks for all the input guys, turns out it was just too rich - it ran like a champ today. The clutch liner is brand new btw.
