Default Re: Alan Szabo vid! One of the best I've seen!!

I got backward flying down with my CX...it ain't so bad. Now inverted and backward will be a whole different story!
I am at a "start over" point right now. I am switching to mode 4, which is how I fly planes. When I first started out on a heli with mode 4, I thought it was that mode that was making me not be able to just fly it. Turned out it was just because I needed to learn to fly helis - they are an entirely different animal!
I am already doing the mode 4 successfully on my CX to retrain my brain, so it shouldn't be a big deal when I do it on my CP...

I've been around Curtis 4-5 times and Alan only once (last Sept). With Curtis no two flights are the same whereas most of Alan's flights seemed to be very much the same. Both are awesome pilots but for now I still give the edge to Curtis. There's no doubt Alan will have his time. Curtis just has a bunch of years on Alan.

On a different level you can walk up to Curtis and he'll talk to you matter of factly. Alan wasn't nearly as comfortable or open.

I agree. I saw curtis at the TOC's since the early 90's. He is still the master - but Alan has the potential to gain on him...

He's a closet airplane guy, see how he drives it around on the ground. I thought I had see some hardcore flying but man-O-man. That was 6 minutes straight of down on the deck madness. His fingers and his brain must hurt after that. I mean pirouetting tic tocs on the deck like that. I think I am going to have to get another shanker this summer

Alan flies the 90s good, Danny kills on the Trex. If you want to see an awesome pilot, I would watch for Steven Gerrard from the UK/England. I went to the Las Vegas fun fly this weekend and saw Jason Krause, Curtis Youngblood, Alan and Danny Szabo, Eric Larson, Steven Gerrard, Pete Noites (sp?) and others. Just blew me away at the talent.
