Default Revlock vs Revmax

Got one heli with a remax. Super easy to setup. Another with a revlock . Started trying to figure out the revlock. Thought I had it but no. Forget it,too confusing for me. So I'm gonna sell the revlock and get a revmax.

Question is this, will the magnet in fan also work with the revmax or wil I have to install another?

If anyone wants the revlock let me know,Its brand new. Only the sensor has been flown in the heli.

i think it should work... i'v heard about people using GV-1 magnets with the TJpro.

but to be very certain, just test it.
take the sensor from the revmax and see if it recognises the magnets of the revlock

I know the TJ magnet will work with the revlock, but think the revlock magnet will only work if you have the polarity right, so think you have a 50/50 chance of it working with the revmax. What radio are you using to try to get the revlock to work? My revlock was plug and play and works like a champ.

The sensor for the revmax may have to be flipped around to work with the revlock magnet for polarity reasons as stated above. Before you build the sensor up on the mount have the revmax turned on with the sensor plugged in. Hold the sensor up to the magnet, if the red light turns on then you have it the right way, if not, flip it around and try the other way. Mark which side needs to be up and pay attention when you build it....it's easy to mix up again (at least for me )

Alright,I'm not giving up on it. Its just a little more confusing then the revmax. I understand the revlock is supposed to work very well.

Most people install both magnets with the revmax for fan balancing reasons, but it only needs one. You can fill the opposite hole in the fan in to get the weight balanced. Don't use JB weld as the metal in it makes things screwy. As long the poles are opposite the csm magnets will work. Hell I think the sensor from a revlock will work with a revmax. Not having a gov menu in the 9z makes setting up the revlock a little more tricky. The 9ch is the pimp of govorners.

Got it figured out, the 9z doesnt' have a gov menu, but once you figure out the setup , the adjustmens are limitless. I've got a master on/off swtich for all modes, and my idle 1/2 has different headspeeds all slaved to the idle switch.

I'm having some kind of problem with the revlock in the Tiger. Whenever I turn it on, if I'm just hovering it causes the tail to glitch back and forth, I actually think that may be a side result of the throttle jumping around but it's hard to tell. I know the instructions say not to use it till the motor is broken in, but the guy I bought the heli from said it had about 2 or 3 gallons through the motor and I've put another gallon through it. Plus it runs smooth as silk. Any ideas why the governer is doing this?

The revlock is known for hunting. It will kick the throttle, which will also cause the tail to bounce around (side to side) a bit. Try turning the gain down on revlock...some have been able to get rid of it completly by doing so, some have not. Keep messing with the gain setting on it.

Yep, turn down the gain, and if that doesnt fix it, you need to tweak the needles a bit more.

Interesting, didn't realize that the little dialer became a gain adjustment when in remote mode. I'll give it a whirl. Right now though I'm waiting on new servos for the heli. I had some MPI 870mg's in it, which I had some really good luck with in the past. Nice coreless motors, metal gears, high torque and speed. Only problem I found out was that the cases are made using a really cheap plastic. The mounting tabs broke off of two of them, allowing the servos to float.
