A very good value is the stinger 50. My personal choice is the Evo 50 for that sized heli due to not needing to upgrade it once you get into heavier 3d.

I just wipe the oil off of the 401 after each flight. I have never seen a 401 damaged by oil. Once you get comfortable flying higher and get into forward flight, there is a lot less oil that will get on the gyro. The biggest mess is when you are within one rotor diameter of the ground learning to hover. The next big mess does not come till you start doing a lot of inverted and backwards flight. |

What's turning out to be a huge shift in e-heli's is the new T-Rex 600. It's a 50 sized heli (runs 600mm blades) that cost the same to outfit as a raptor with an OS 50 hyper. The lepton is interesting but very pricey in comparison. Rob |

OK Guy's, The thread rocks and the timing is perfect. I have been flying a Blade CP & the new Axe CP. The Axe is cool little copter. Way more stable than the blade. But now I just opened a new can of worms. I bought a used Gohbee Stinger .50 Has the Futaba 401 gyro, Hitec 635 Servos. OS .50.. Now for the good part. I'm using a JR8103 Radio and want to set it up for a newbie. I can do forward flight fine with the electric, but have fear on the big bird. Pointers and mixes. Also, if I can fly my AXE and land it with out crashing. How hard will the new one be to stick the landing... |

You will be pleasantly surprised to find out that the Stinger 50 (or any 50) is way easier to fly than the small electrics. The 50's are a lot more stable in hover or forward flight yet will still rock and roll when the time comes. Your gonna have a blast. |

OK here's a newbe question. Whats the difference between a short heli blade vs using longer blades. Will longer blades benefit a newbe flyer.. |
