One of our club members pulled this thing out of a trash bin somewhere. Woot. Any identification out there?

It may be an early Kalt Baron Alpha 30. I think it was called the Excaliber in the US.

| http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3175289/tm.htm These guys seem to think it's a Helibaby. It sure brings back some of my early dreams of getting into RC. Take care... Andy |

Yep... Thats a Gorham Model Products CRICKET ! its a 20 sized fixed pitch machine. That was the first heli I ever saw actually fly forward instead of just trying to hover. I actually was amazed when the guy flying it actually did a loop with it. The Schluter line back than was pretty much the company of choice back then. There were alot of blossoming companies coming out with helis. They almost all looked the same with aluminum frames, and belt/cone starts. I kind of like the retro heli, It reminds me of my RC infantdom. Very cool. Some info HERE

Definity a cricket, if you need parts let me know and you will!!My friend Gary learned to fly with a cricket and I used a American mantis both fixed pitch, no gyro's. The cricket was the raptor 30 of it's day. Less maint. than my (mantis ).

I did suggest he may want to see if the AMA museum might be interested in it. He is going to clean it up and make it where the canopy will stay on it. After that, I guess it is finders keepers. It was nearly history lost though. I am glad someone got it that will preserve it a little while longer. I hope it brougt back some fond memories for some of you.
