Im betting your gonna see the batts be about the same for the RAPPY also, having known guys with electric rappys. The 600 though.... slightly larger than the 400 size rappy, and perhaps using only a slightly larger batt ? I dont know enough about it.... MAX and Biff TIME TO MAKE A CALL TO KRAUSE !! find out the skinny.

The 600 is going to be interesting now that align is hooked up with horizon for distribution. I have to admit it, I know jack about electrics. I'm still trying to figure out how to wire up a 2S2P rx pack LOL!

The Align 600, the L14 (on 600s) and a Raptor conversion (available now from an outfit called XeroG who make wicked carbon frames) will all take the same power, because they are all roughly the same size and run 600 blades. For good 3D that means a decent 10s2p 4200 LiPo pack. Align are currently trying to get away with doing 6s2p (so that's 12 cells instead of 20) and they are crazy. It's a simple matter of disc loading and watts needed to fly vs. watts available from the battery. For all intents and purposes all 3 helis will cost about the same to power them, so take your pick as to which parts are more readily available to you if you crash. Personally I'd order the carbon frames from XeroG and do an electric Raptor, because the parts are cheap and available everywhere. Logo parts have to come from Germany, and the Rex 600 is so new I wouldn't go near it for at least a year until the bugs are worked out.

Buddy has 2 electric raptor 50s, 1 a Xero G conversion, the other fairly stock. Both rock.

Honestly I don't get all the hype about electrics. The little fly all twitchy and such. Yeah, I know, your TREX ROCKS, but give me a break ANY 50 or 90 glow flies WAY better - just like a 40% Extra flies better than a Speed 400 Extra.

Now everyone wants a bigger electric, because, of course, bigger flies better. But then you are looking at $420 per pack. Figure 3 packs minimum for a day of flying and then a REALLY good (EXPENSIVE) field charger to boot. Then you find out the dirty little secret that those expensive packs don't last all that long before they lose capacity and need to be replaced.

I can buy 84 gallons of glow fuel for the cost of three of those BIG 50 sized batteries. That gives me 975 flights on my 50. That means you need to get 325 flights per pack before you break even, not counting the charger. And I know that NONE of those packs have 325 full discharge cycles in them.

I guess I'm just old fashioned. I like glow and the bigger the better.
