Default Heli CP

Hey I just got the aerobatic kit in for this heli. I put the motor in and the blades on but for some reason it will not get off the ground. The blades will spin but will not get off in the air and I have everything adjusted as far as they will go. I also had to hook the motor up the other way for the blades to be turning the right way. Is it how I put the blades on? Sorry but I am new at actually setting up heli's lol. I can just fly them.

The blades should be spinning clock-wise. When you increase the throttle stick your main blade pitch should increase.

Did you put the blades on backwards. Yes it does happen, just ask me. even one will prevent proper lift. easy fix. Swept end goes into the lift.

The blades are spinning in the right direction. The motor and blades is turning up and about full throttle it wants to get off the ground. I put these blades on as the same as the others that were on it. The regular blades.

If it is a Blade CP, and you put the "aerobatic" motor in with the 9 tooth pinion you need to be flying it with a 3 cell LiPo battery. With the stock 9.6 NiMH you will not get the head speed that you will with the stock motor.

I just put CF blades on mine, with the 9 tooth pinion and it will not lift off either, gonna go back to the stock motor until I get my lipos here in Iraq with me.

Mine would fly with the stock setup and the fully semetrical blades, but just barely. Make sure your throttle trim is all the way up. Throttle trim on this heli affects your pitch curve. If your not using the 3 cell lypos, you should go back to the 10T stock motor to get more head speed. There are several good threads on this heli on Runryder.com worth checking out. Good stuff on how to get the most bang for the buck on it. I have mine set up now with the 9 tooth pinion, 3 cell 1320 TP packs, heat syncs and I run flat and semetrical blades. The flats are great for most flying, if you want to hover inverted, you'll need the semis, but it flys great with the flats.

Thanks for the info!!! I have a 720 11.1V lipo and a 11.1v 900 lipo battery. I just got to change the leads and they will be ready. Hopefully that will do it.

Kevin,
I think the 720 MaH Lipo will be the ticket. The weight savings should really help with aerobatics. By the way, the 1320 is lighter than the stock NiMH as well, I think 93 grams for the lipo and 101 for the NiMH.

Is the throttle trim up on the radio? I know the trim raises the whole pitch range if brought up.

To get even pitch curve in both positive and negative, you need the trim just above center. If your just going to fly around (not inverted), I'd recomend going full up on the trim.

You can watch the lights on the 4in1 and see where the throttle is hitting peak, the light will turn red. By flipping to iddle up, you can adjust your trim to get this light to turn red at even points on positive and negative throttle (stick) positions. Once you've found that trim position, you can go back, disconect the power from the motor and set the throttle stick at center. Then addjust your collective for zero pitch at center stick. This will give you close to even throttle and pitch curve in both neg and positive, best case for aerobatics.

Just tried swaping back to the stock motor and the heli got off the ground just at full throttle but it was all out of control. It would barely stay in a hover. I could only get it like a foot and it just goes crazy. It will only go about a foot but the blades are spinning like crazy and I already adjusted the pitch of it.
