Default TRex Ideas

Howdy all,

Thought id share some intricacies ive figured out in dealing with the TRex helis.

I found that the collective was not very responsive and would sometimes stick. Stick is just what it was doing. I pulled the main shaft and found that the ball was not sliding freely on the shaft. I cleaned it with denatured alcohol and then chucked it up in my cordless drill. I grabbed a piece of 1500 grit sand paper and polished the area above where the collar and bearings sit. After putting it back together i put a single drop of triflow anywhere there is a sliding component on the main shaft. Took it out and test flew it and man its smooth.

Also, if youre looking for faster roll rates, try using Hornet Sport paddles instead of the stock TRex paddles. Careful though, they are twitchy untill you get used to them. The best combo i have flown are these paddles with the SAB 320 blades.

good post, Im sure there are tons more out there... I did the same thing with some emery cloth, and some Teflon multi use lube... Im using the paddles from the hornet too, and I dig it.

Are you running the SE frame? If so, what length are your servo arms and what servos? Im running the 56s with the shortest possible arms, but was going to set up a new one with the 65s and long arms. Curious to know if there is any advantage disadvantage. Im a little worried about not having enough leverage with the long servo arm.
