The magic is the 12z/14mz, you can't expect a company to break through with something new every couple of months. All just personal opinions.

I seriously doubt that Futaba will lose money by releasing a 2.4 ghz system. I know that they put a on of money into the G3 stuff, but Futaba seems to release the best products when they have them available. I don't think that they're going to miss the market by 2.4 gig modules. I personally will probably get a 2.4 gig for my 9C if they release it. Think about all the money that Futaba would make from folks like me. It's a win win situation.

And once again, keep in mind that Futaba sells WAAAAY more 6 and 7 channel; radios than they do 9-12-14 channel radios. I know we have our little corner of the world that we think is everything, but Futaba knows their sales numbers like we never will.

Has anyone out there talked to, or used any of the products produced by Xtreme Power Source. It looks as though they have a good handle on what we are actually looking for by providing an easy and cost effecient way for those of us that like our radios to change to 2.4 ghz fairly easy. Their web site answers alot of questions, I just don't know enough about the 2.4 ghz change to know if their answers seem correct. This looks great, I hope it works.

I have come across a "wierd" 2.4G behaviour. I have a Spektrum DX-7. I have these old 2.4G handsets made by Uniden. When I use my DX-7 the handsets cannot connect to the base. They will ring when a call comes in but you can't answer. There is no scenario that I have found that causes them to interfere with the DX-7. If you are in a call on them and turn on the DX-7 no issue. It's only when they try to connect to the base while the DX-7 is on.

Just goes to show - if someone does not implement the devices and support the protocols correctly anything can happen. At least in this case the Radio wins ...

Yep, talked with them at length and had dinner with Jim Drew, his business partner Scott, and several others. I have also stood on the sidelines at the AMA show as I watched him answer any questions that some of the self-proclaimed techies had. He could not be stumbled. I saw video of this system in operation on a 40% Compy (it's on his site), and then saw it in person at the Arizona E-fest, flying 1/5 scale warbirds and a Cub. It was rock-solid and they were flying amongst Spektrum radios everywhere - no problems. It is not hype, it is fully functional, and every bit as fast, in data transmission as you will ever need. The "techies" are saying that there's no way it is as fast as Spektrum due to the way it "translates" inputs, but Jim Drew says that is not the case (I don't remember how he rebutted it), and Alan Szabo flew a Trex 600 (or some electric heli) with the extremelink and said, it felt every bit as fast as anything he had used - good enough for me!

What I see with this new 6 channel from Futaba is a radio just like the DX6! Which equals new look & old news. Cmon the Dx system has been out for a while now and Futaba is just now coming out with this 6 ch park system???I am not bashing Futaba, 'thats what I fly', but they need to step it up so they can catch up, or they will soon be falling too far behind in this 2.4GHZ revolution! Personally I think their first release should of been a 7 channel 2.4GHZ system. So they were a step up on dx's first release!
But heck at least they make the best FM radio avail. right now!

Well, no. It is NOT a park system. It is a full range system that you can use in anything that you can fly with a normal RC system. While it is not a feature rich system like the 14MZ it is more than sufficient for the overwhelming majority of the market. You see, Futaba knows very well what they sell the most of and they sell WAY more 4 and 6 channel radios than they do 9-12-14 channel radios. They figures that it would be better to start off in the heart of their market where they sell the most radios. Silly them.

FG probably stands for flyinggiants But seroiusly on th photo of the radio's descripyion we can see that it will fill the gap between 9C and 12Z/14MZ. So it will probably be something cheaper the regulat 12, but with a bit of less functions.

I am not trying to step on your toes here judge but the Robbe website CLEARLY shows that this is intended as a park flier system, full range or not. It's prob. 'considered' a park flier system because it will be sold with small servos? Mabey we shouldt believe it is intended only as a park system? Just because its in black and white dont make it true right?
Here it is copied and pasted from Robbe---

FASST - Futaba Advanced Spread Spectrum Technology
Fully expanded six-channel computer system with ergonomically efficient hand-held transmitter incorporating FASST 2.4 GHz Spread Spectrum technology, for indoor and park-fly model aircraft and micro helicopters.

see it yourself here- http://at.robbe-online.net/rims_at.s...View/1&2DF8059

On the left side of the screen go to "new items" when the page comes up go to "radio sytems" and scroll down to the second from last radio.
