XPS report I just returned from my XPS test flight: 25mph gusting winds Cold 50 degrees Radio: 9303H Synergy OS 91szps SB-18 1900 headspeed Futaba 9351's, no tab trimming needed (thank you very much) ATG governor I simply swapped out my JR 649pcm receiver one channel at a time. Did the binding, charged everything and waited for decent weather. I didn't change any trims, sub trims, governor settings, etc. Just a simple receiver swap. Took the synergy up in a hover, flip the idle up switch to check out the governor, and off I went. The heli flew great. Too windy to tell if things are faster, more connected, etc. Did some high climb outs, lots of tumbles, flips, piros, rolls, stall turns, etc. A 90mph heli can really cover some ground with a 25mph tail wind!! It got small in a hurry. Not a single hickup. No antennae to route, simple drop in replacement, easy set up. Immune to electric and mechanical noise. Exactly what I was hoping for. I can simply unplug the xps module, reinstall my JR 72mhz module, twist on my rubber ducky antennae and be back in the 72mhz game in 30 seconds flat to fly my JR receiver guided planes, etc. The small parkflyer xps receiver will have no antennae at all exposed, as it is a chip on the board. How great will that be? I can't wait to fly during calm conditions where I can compare the way the heli feels with the xps vs. JR pcm. I also have a DX7 to play with. I have it installed in my second synergy, so I hope to see if one system feels faster and more connected than the other. Tyler |

I flew two more flights tonight in only 15mph winds. I do believe there is a noticable difference between the xps and the JR 9303 using pcm. I definately had to retime my tic-toc inputs a little. I would say I felt more in sync with my helicopter. There was a lot less mush in the controls/commands/response. It is hard to describe, but it feels like upgrading from cheap, weak, slow servos to super fast and strong ones. Everything just happens crisper and faster. I was banging pretty good on the sticks, not a single hicup so far. Hope to fly in some 5-10 mph winds this weekend and take my time. I installed the DX7 in my other heli, and it feels even a little faster if at all. Only one flight on that system so far. Definately better than pcm, though. I have to get the headspeed the same on both machines because this and choice of blades can really make a difference in how a heli feels. I have too many variables to make a true comparison: batteries, main blades, mufflers, headspeed, ccpm servos different between the two helis. Tyler |

Tyler Looks as if only the peoples at Toledo have something to work with, but I am glad it work great. I hope they can get it together before the big Futaba and Jr get the modules on the shelf. Keep the info flowing that all we less fortune guys have at the time. |

I ordered a 10 channel rx and the TX module to go in a AW Yak. I was wondering if you have any pics of your installation? Reason I ask is I was reading the manual and it says they want "the antenna postion of the Rx at least 2 inches from anything condcutive." I know in a heli it is a bit more crowded than a yak.. How much time did the programming take? Did you just plug in and go? Thanks, Scott Last edited by moter; 04-22-2007 at 11:21 AM. Reason: spelling |

I flew the XPS system in my "radio rat" plane, we flew as far as we could see a 77" plane, no glitches. As the manuel states, it is line of sight, if somebody walks in front of you it will go into failsafe! We tested the recovery rate from failsafe. 34% Extra will be the next test.

Tony, If you look at anything, look at the XPS available now or the Futaba, I spent a long time doing field test with the Futaba system, flew with 12 in the air, nothing affected the signal. 2.4 is the most comforting factor to come to this hobby in years!!!!!
