Not that its much of a plane.........but XPS rocked in my .63YS funtana .40 glo plane over the weekend. It really got wrung out. So much fun it ran out of gas and landed hard. 1hr later at the shop in my garage it was ready to fly again! XPS will soon be in my 35% WH SU-26......its currently in Vegas but not at my house yet!!!!! |

Well, I got my XPS in my CAP up today and it once again worked flawlessly. It has a great feel and I was excited to be able to do anything I wanted to with it again. I only got one flight because my choke servo crapped out on me, but that's life. This is one sweet system. I also got 4 more flights on the DOD Katana, but no pictures. XPS Works!

I went to the SEFSD Spring Fling fly in today. XPS was there and had a small number (I think they sais about 40) of module sets with RX for sale. The y sold out of the 8 channel RX almost emediately so I ended up getting a 10 channel RX. I wanted to use my Fliton AJ Extra to do an A/B comparison between XPS and my existing JR9303 and JR 7 Channel PCM RX setup. I also wanted to see how long the conversion would take. I started by switching the program for my AJ from PCM to PPM. I then turned off the TX unscrewed the stock antenna and swaped modules. Converting the TX took just under a minute. I then turned to the RX side of things. I bound the TX to the RX outside the plane to make it easy to get access to the bind button. I used a RX battery pack to power up the RX. Binding could'nt be easier, another minute used. I then lined up the existing RX next to the XPS RX and simply moved the wires from one to the other. Here is where I made a mistake, I thought the B/T label meant battery/Throttle, it actually means Battery/Telemetry. This cause all my wires to be off by one during the transfer. Jim Drew pointed out my mistake and i just bumped the wires over one position. I then velcroed the XPS RX in place on top of the wing tube. Total time to convert my JR9303 and AJ Extra over to XPS 2.4 was about 7 minutes. I powered up the plane and checked the trims. They all looked straight to me so I went on to range checking. With the TX antenna removed, the range checking button pressed, and a friend holding the plane, I slowed worked back to about 100 feet with perfect control. I added power and had my friend rotate the plane in all axis to make sure that I had perfect control in all attitudes to the TX. No problems so I considered it a good range check. My friend set down the plane, I walked over to a pilot station and took off. The plane took off as expected so I imediately went into a rolling circle, rolling loop, long upline followed by a blender and ending in a hover. The plane performed perfectly. I continued to fly aggressively for the remainder of the battery and experienced no issues. I flew the rest of the day with perfect results. I can't say that I noticed a big difference in speed or control as others have reported. Everything worked well and I am satisfied with the system. I will now install the other RX in my 75" Hyperion YAK which I use for EMAC. I expect it will also work perfectly. -STEVE- |

I got 5 flights on my Spektrum Module and AR 9000 rx in my 42% Dalton 260 today. Easy setup, and works as advertised, not one hiccup and so far 100% pleased.

I have several hours of flights on XPS in a Fun X100 and a 8UAF and love it. No more glitches, hits, ect.... Works completely as advertised. It's a great time to be in RC. So much awesome technology for the end user. |
