Question Slow Binding AR9000 Spektrum

With a Spektrum AR9000 and module in JR10X, it takes a long time to bind, or i have to try several times to get it to bind. I have a friend with same set up with the same problem. Another friend with the same set up binds quickly, everytime.

All of us have a 2nd satellite receiver.

Any ideas why?

By long time, what exactly do you mean? How much time is a long time?

I have the same set up and it binds the in about the same time with one satellite receiver as it does with two. I did have a satellite receiver that was not binding and putting the whole system into failsafe, but once that was replaced the problem stopped.

I just set up 3 different ones all about the same time as the 7000, 1-2 seconds

These take upwards of 8secs or longer. We've found if you turn off the transmitter once or twice it will then bind up more quickly. (note: when you do this the RX is already on and the transmitter is already on so the light is steady orange.) Once its acquired there are no problems.

Rebinding the RX had no effect.

i've tested mine many more times. The initial bind with the bind plug works fine. And i've re-binded (new word) several times. After removing the plug, when i turn on the Rx and then the Tx, power goes to the servos, but the Tx controls don't work. If it doesn't connect in 4-5 secs, it won't connect. If i turn of the Tx and back on a few times, then it will finally connect and everything works OK. This happens almost every time.

Mine does the same thing only with the Ar7000. You might find that you reciever or transmitter is clost to metal. Even screws can cause the problem.

i did some more testing. I have another AR9000 rx that worked fine on the bench. It acquired the signal immediately every time. So, i swapped receivers. And, the same thing happens, so it has something to do with the airplane. I have to switch on and off the Tx several times before the signal is acquired and the servos work.

I am running dual Fromeco 4800 packs into Fromeco voltage regulators set for 6.0 V running into a Batshare battery share device then into the battery and spare servo port of the Rx. I have Matchboxs on aileron, rudder and elevator so i'm only plugged into the 4 primary servo ports.

The problem continues. i have to switch off the Tx several times before the servos work. i can also switch off and on the Rx, but using the Tx works better.

Same exact problem here, all of the above i have been experiencing. Are you guys solving any of these issues or just dealing with them. My setup 33% Edge, 1 AR9000 (2 satellites) on a Smartfly Power Expander EQ10, 2 Duralite regulators, 2 4800mah, 1 2700, 3 mpi swithes. I am using a JR9303 2.4. I have a AR7000 on a Showtime and this never happens binds everytime. I'm frustrated with this issue.

Try binding from about 25 feet away with the TX not right next to the model. we often see swamping that prevents binding, I usually walk away and try again. If you are in a high noise or bad freq area, it can take several seconds while the transmitter finds an open freq. It still has to do its thing.

One time we had an older satellite receiver with the newer 9000. I had borrowed a first gen receiver from the 7000, It would not bind at all, some incompatibility. What we found that the newer ones (with the antenna gussets on the case) had to be paired up.
