Default DX-7 Throttle Kill on Gear Switch?

Using Pmix 5, I mixed Throttle->Throttle with -100 to -100 and about a -75 Offset to create a Throttle kill switch.

It works fine, but my choice of switches to assign it to are limited. I can't assign this to the Gear switch.

My options are Flap 0 or Flap 2 (the same switch) or the Mix switch.

The Mix switch is used for Dual Rates on the Rudder. I have aileron/elevator/rudder on separate switches till I find settings I like.

I don't really like it on Flap switch.

I can't use Aux 2. I have that INH because of the dual elevator set-up.

Am I SOL? Oh please, oh please, release the x9303!

I take it you are not using the gear switch for anything else. Why not do a Gear to Throttle mix so you can use the gear switch.

Vahn,

Different P-mixes have different switches available to them.

I do the same for a throttle arm/disarm but using -100% for the offset and set it to the gear switch. JUST USE P-MIX #3

I spent the $59 bucks for a Smart fly optical kill switch, works great on the gear switch.

Hrm. I will try some other mixes then.

The manual doesn't go into what Switches are available in which mixes. It just says on page 58, Assigning a Switch, in the Programmable Mixing 1-6 chapter that Gear switch should be available.

I am having trouble with the offsets in general. It works and I can close the throttle completely using the switch, but the amount it will close will very depending on how open the throttle is in the first place.

This is my first few days of experience with the DX-7, so I'm a newb.

I use the gear switch as a "flight idle" throttle up and that switch is available on P-MIX #3 as Dan said.

Indeed, P-Mix #3 was the ticket. While my car was in the shop, I sat their and did the programming on the DX-7. Needless to say, no less than 8 different people were looking at me funny asking just what the heck it was and I purposely found the furthest, quietest place to sit I could.
