Default 9303 and Spektrum 2.4 help

I am having some issues with my JR 9303 and spektrum module and AR9000 receiver. This same module and rx worked flawlessly in my previous airplane for 50+ flights. I am setting up the rx in a new airplane and this is what is happening. I am using 2 remote receivers. Whenever I go full left ailerons (only full, not partial) the throttle goes wide open (does not do it if I go full right or any right). It does this with the left ailerons plugged into aux 1, or when nothing is plugged into aux 1, does not matter. I am running a power expander pro. I have tried it with and without the power expander, no change. I have tried re-binding it several times, and tried it without one of the satellite receivers, no change either. No progam mixes in my radio, I even tried a brand new model in my radio with no luck. I cannot figure this one out. Any ideas? Not sure if I am overlooking something. Here is my overall setup.

Dual fromeco 5200s, plugged into their own badger switch, badger switch to a super regulator, regulator to power expander. Flaperon program in my 9303 with right aileron plugged into the ail port, left into aux 1. Dual elevator setup with aux 2, and dual rudder setup with aux 3. Throttle on thro and choke on gear. Also, at one point all my servos started going crazy, but rebound and no issues.

Check your subtrims and EPA/ATVs. It's very unlikely (but possible) that if you've programmed the transmitter to produce a pulse that's too short (or long) it's confusing the encoder circuitry in the transmitter module.

I had a very similar problem recently (albeit not with a 9303/Spektrum) and it was because I had too much subtrim applied on a channel.

All of my subtrim is zero. However, after experimenting some my aileron atv is 150/150, if I reduce the aileron atv going left to 146, the throttle does not move when full stick deflection is put in. Go to 147 and the throttle starts jumping back and forth, 148-150 it goes full throttle. Is there a fix for this?

Razr, it's almost as if the left aileron is overlapping INTO the throttle channel.

My best guess fix would be to set all ATV's to 140 and go fly.

I am not sure what to make of it, also when I turn the tx on, then the receiver, my choke servo (gear ch) goes full opposite where it was set at, then back to where it was, does it every time I turn the rx power on and off. I also noticed that one of the flights on my rx was flickering a bit, but then went away.

Youve stumped me there . I re wired my spektrum module yesterday so I
did not have to cross all the wires over on the RX to expander and had
no probs at all .

Sure the throttle is pluged into the right chanel? My first 2.4 did some strange
things to the throttle (Did not work) until I found I had the wrong chanel .

During plugging in of my RX to power expander I use a spare servo to pre test
the expander output and I do not trust the first positive result I get . I also
set all of my servos on 100 / 100 and go for mechanical resolution . The reason
for this is at the end of srvo travel the mechanical induced expo is huge .
Also If any system is run at its max the point of failure will be found sooner.

I know this is does not fix your prob but its all I can think of .

Stu

It is plugged into the right channel. The throttle works fine, however when you go full aileron (left) with more than 146 ATV in that direction, the throttle goes from whatever position it is in to full open. Tomorrow I am going to put my 72mhz back in and see if the problem goes away. If it does, the spektrum system is going back to horizon so they can figure it out.

if it were mine -I would start with a new cleared model in the rx then test a basic system (no mix no dual anythings ) then - add the wing setup (flapperon ) and try all ATV tests - appararantly this is where things go wrong - from your discription.
the do the dual elev mix (preprogrammed mix which calls out el1 and el 2
as does correct ail mix -calls out ail 1 and ail 2 do this step by step - the batts n regs don't affect any of this programming
but they can cause fail safe if the regs are hinky. I don't think it is the modules . proove this by trying a 72 module and rx.

Dick, I have done exactly that, started basic and kept adding stuff. Even with a plain setup with simple aileron and no mix to the aux ch for a second aileron, it still does it if you go past 146 ATV. Also, even with a basic setup and then the choke servo added when I turn on the tx then the rx the choke servo goes from open/closed to the full opposite, then back to where the switch is. My friend has a spektrum module/rx and he says his flaps go from full up to full down, then back to full up every time the power is turned on or off. Not sure what is happening there as well, but I dont trust my new plane to this yet. It worked 100% flawlessly for me in my last plane for 50+ flights, and I changed nothing moving all the gear to this plane, same batteries, power expander, etc.

Check this link out. I know you are not using a 10X, but the issue sounds the same as described. There is a thread on the issue running on RCU. That is where I first read this bulletin from Horizon.
