OK here goes.. Been using a DX7 and an AR7000 Rx for 5 months in my 3.0m comp arf260 and various other planks and helis.Works great, absolutely no issues or problems, BIG 2.4GHz fan here, no peg, no shoot downs fantastic. Decided to change the AR7000 in the 260 for a AR9000 rx so as to utilise the extra satellite rx slot and the data option, like the gadgets and idea of an extra Rx. (yes I know if it aint broken don't fix it) Long story short .....after multiple binding and rebinding sessions, I am getting some rather strange behaviour as follows, 1. No servo movement at power up. 2. Servo movement at power up. 3. No servo movement at power up, remove a satellite rx, servo movement. 4. No servo movement at power up, power down, remove one or both satellite rx, power up, servo movement, replace one or both satellite rx, servo movement, power down, power up, no servo movement. 5. Power down, power on, servo movement. 6. Power down, power on, no servo movement. Etc Etc.... I thought I could see a pattern emerging, but the lack or not of servo movement seems quite random, although 3. always works (may have to remove both sat rx) Caveats: All four (if satellites plugged in) RX lights on with and without servo movement, Rx Battery voltage never below 5.2v, Tx battery 10.8v, Tx close to but not pointing directly at Rx (like it makes a difference anyway) Okay I have had another fiddle, and I want to clarify this behaviour. Power on (both satellite Rx's plugged in) no servo movement (tried 20+ times) 4 Rx lights on. Remove one sat Rx, sometimes get servo movement, remove other sat Rx, always get servo movement, plug one sat Rx back in, still have movement, plug the other sat Rx back in, still have servo movement all 4 Rx light on. Power down, power on ...no servo movement.... ![]() If power down after having removed both sat Rx's and having movement then power on, no movement until plugging a sat Rx in ![]() Like I said at the outset STRANGE behaviour, maybe its just fooked. Any one had a similar experience?? Regards all Phil. |

I know this is not your problem -but - check that the power plug is not reversed into the rx - I found thru accident that one can plug power plug in upside down -the bind and everything works --til you remove the bind plug - then no power ! (the bind plug is completing the power path I did not believe my eyes! pehaps you have a bad plug -somewhere - |

Just a guess but won't it not work because the DX7 is 7 channels and the AR9000 is 9. Just my .02

Works fine with a DX7 i have 4 using one. Could it be that one sat is bad? I believe it has to have one to work but if that fails it will stay working until next power cycle |

I currently have an AR9000 sitting on my bench that I could not get to bind properly either. Ended up putting one AR9000 and one AR7000 in my Dalton until I can get it figured out. I will be watching this thread.

Okay I figured it out ![]() After even more fiddling around and borrowing a JR Tx with the spektrum module I finally spotted a pattern.... The AR9000 comes with one remote Rx, the newer Rx's main and remote (like mine) have the little plastic bosses where the aerial exits the Rx body. So far so good...... My older DX7 Rx and its satellite Rx do not have that case type. When I put the AR9000 in the 260 I plugged in the old satellite rx, It didn't work, so I rebound etc etc removed the AR9000 fiddled on the bench with both satellites went round in circles for a couple of hours. So the eureka moment tonight was realising that my AR9000 with the old style satellite Rx plugged in will bind (lights up) but will not produce any servo movement.I have confirmed this behaviour with two different 'old' style satellite Rx's a DX7 and a JR 9X2 using a spektrum module. So kind of odd, will contact specktrum to see if this is an issue. phil. |
