Cool! Any issues with vibration affecting the satellite rx mounted on the balsa stick you have near the fuel tank ?

Has anyone tried manually transfering a JR10x program to 9303?

Nick,
That sounds like a very solid installation, we have not been able to come close to those numbers.

Pale Rider,
I don't think it is as simple as moving the antenna out of the fuse. I know people who have tried this with poor results. One very well known flyer told me that he had moved two of his remote RXs out into the wing tips thinking that would give virtually no fades. In fact his numbers were much worse so he moved them back into the fuse. I think placement an orientation is not intuitive with these systems. I hope the rules will become clearer as we get more experience.

No problem at all with the receiver on the stick - it is supported at the base with 1/4 tri-stock on both sides. Besides, the rx only weighs like 5 grams.
I will tell you how I determined my antenna setup. I visualized line of site to each rx, forgetting about wood, covering, etc., and accounting for metal CF and anything else that might attenuate the signal. Then I put the plane in a slew of various positions and make sure I can "see" at least one of the receivers. If I can't, I know I can expect fades or other losses. In the end, one up high, one down low, and one of the three perpendicular to the others is what seemed to yeild the best "vision". I am quite satisfied with only one frame lost in a 5 minute flight, and that could have been on the ground during power-up or taxiing out.

So do you think a single remote is enough on a 35% ? I guess having 2 of them isn't a bad idea--they pretty cheap

pale, I used the single remote for 150+ flights on my 42% dalton with zero problems, I went with the second long one just because I could in my mx2. I mounted my stuff in places that I normally would mount a 72mhz rx, etc, and it works fine without having to run antennas up in the canopy, etc. Granted, my installs are not birds nests though.

having a second remote rx is a good idea on anything, IMO. $29 worth of insurance.

I'm really pumped about getting my 9303 but checked on Horizon site and they don't even have an idea of how soon they'll be in...o well i'm willing to wait.

Quick question about the data logger. I was think on getting one but wasn't sure how it works...it is compatible with the JR 2.4ghz recevier that is included with the radio right? So does it just plug into the reciever?

It is only compatible with the AR9000 and R921 at the moment, I believe. Don't even think about getting one, just get it. As far as I am concerned, it is an absolutely essential tool for monitoring, evaluating your setup.
I just ran an extension off the data port and I plug the logger in after each session right before I turn the system off. The receiver stores the info throughout the flight, so the logger doesn't always need to be plugged in.
