Can't tell you anything about a black case, but in following a thread on "another forum" a JR distributor from the UK has said the release of the 12X has been pushed back by a new requirement from Horizon that it be available in a 72MHz format as well as the originally planned 2.4GHz. They weren't even finished with the programming/feature set on the original.

I'd say the original release date of late fall is history...

I'm not willing to bet my farm (although I'm sure some would not call my 6 acre alfalfa field a "farm") on when my X9303 will get here let alone a 12X being available...

I am very happy that it looks like the 12X will be available in 72Mhz.
2.4Ghz is for cell phones.
