I didn't understand the part altogether either. I'm hoping he clears it up.

The big part is that his previosly bound RX became unbound by moving the switch quickly.

Per the advisory...you need to send it to Futaba at that point.

To dismiss them because I get a shirt is an easy way to avoid dealing with the content.

Sorry - the coffee is still kicking in this morning!!

Let's see. The oldest of these radios is about a year old. 15,000 switch cycles would be roughly 41 per day, ever day. Add to that the fact that some reports indicate that it is more than mere duty cycle, but rather the interruption of the boot up precisely at 0.5 seconds into it with a window of +/- 40 milliseconds and those are some pretty slim odds, and Slim just left town!!

Mith, SSSSHHHHH! You weren't supposed to tell Malvey about the Jet and the girls. Don't you dare show him the pictures from the week on the Team Futaba yatch, that will really upset him. Those perks are reserved for the really big shots like you. You know how big companies are, they only give the minimum they have to, and the compensation committee figured out that he could be bought for just an orange shirt.

According to robbe, the german Futaba distributor, "Futaba's engineers have realized the problem, and are working at full speed on a solution to prevent it in the future".

BTW, today I got the confirmation that my TX arrived at the service center.

Cheers,

Julez
Julez,
Are you saying that Futaba's engineers have confirmed that the GUID can be changed by user action as you reported, or just the fact that some units have a ZGUID?

Well, this is no surprise. I just found out that there are HATS too!!! I suppose I'll have to buy one of those at retail!! And there's no telling what lies and shameless shilling I would do for a free hat. You really don't want to even think about what I'd do for a ride on the Team Jet. I mean, look at what it's done to Mike. Sad, very sad.

Well, gotta go. I'm going to go rapidly cycle my TX switches until either something breaks or until I need a cigarette and a hug!

Bill,
Don't waste your money buying the hat. I won a hat in the pilot's raffle at this weekend's IMAC in Phoenix. I would be happy to send it to you as I have a few more just like it. It has a nice big red "JR" on the front too....

Sam,
Judging from my scores last weekend, I can't "win" anything. You'll have to just give it to me.

I've got several JR shirts and hats. I use them when I work on the car and to check the oil. I also use a very nice JR jacket when I take my dogs to the dog park. Dogs slobber and such on you. I like to wear something I don't care about.

I kid. I love the JR people!!!

I'm sure all your embeded designs are flawless and you have never experienced any unexpected errors or consiquences.

It may have nothing to do with the design. It could be related to a batch of components that are out of spec. I have experienced exactly that in one of my designs and it was a devil to track down. (Related to one batch of EEPROMS from one manufacturer.)
