Seems a LOT of people have had that happen to them.

Here's a way around it. . do a "system restore" on your computer. It wipes the DNS addresses and IP addy out of your computer, and when you log onto your Internet provider and re-do your account information, you are given a new non-dynamic IP address, which RCU and other forums use as the marker for banning you. With a new IP addy, you can't be banned until they finally figure out it's actually YOU again.

I've been banned on RCU 3 times. I currently have 5 "personality" accounts on that site, though, each with a different basic IP, username, and password. You'd NEVER believe what nicknames I have on there. . some have almost 250 posts (okay, its not a ton, but I do post often over there)

Hope this helps with your banning dilemma. . .

(as a backup plan, you can always figure out a way to get a dynamic IP address that changes every time you log onto the net)

From the day I started seeing and hearing failures, I knew something’s not kosher here! DSM/Spektrum had failures due to excessive voltage drop. They warned everyone about this and since then there have been numerous tests done by HorizonHobby, Spektrum, Team Pilots, other sources to define the requirements of power systems so we understand!

However, I really think that failures of XPS in large scale airplanes/turbines as mentioned above even if it’s 10% (I don’t know) can potentially risk people’s lives and property. Last thing we want is a field getting shut down because someone crashed on some streets or property and caused injury. This is actually a liability for the AMA.

I suggest that AMA starts looking into this and investigate the accuracy of claimed specs or AMA will also be involved in possible law suites against them if God forbid one of these failures leave injured or dead people behind!

I don’t want to think that this can happen in an event like Joe Nall that everywhere you look you see hundreds of people. If you have an XPS on a large scale model at Nall, please don’t use it! They work until they don’t! Who is willing to take chances on someone else’s life over brand loyalty!

This is not a joke guys and it is not intended to bash a brand but capability of a system that can be very dangerous.

This has been at the root of my concerns all along. Sooner or later, most likely, someone's going to get hurt.
AMA, well, it's NOT AMA's job to sanction this radio or that, they should stay out of it.
Contest Directors, though, it's their priveledge to ban whatever they want at a contest they are CDing, as long as it's not based upon race or sex or such.
Anyone who saw that twin turbine airline crash into the autobahn in Germany, with no explanation, except the radio was changed to XPS, with the loss of control happening in the exact same manner as all these other crashes, who can still fly their potentially dangerous model using XPS, well, they are excercising really poor judgement.
If you need to see an example of using the wrong radio, just check out the video of the large scale Pitts killing two people in Hungary a year or two back. That guy used 35mhz in a country where 35mhz is not reserved for models. The end result is pretty gruesome.

YLF,

Yes I can get it to do that but its not a real science and nor is it always repeatable. If I move the radio around the room and have the airhorn between the Rx and Tx it does happen at times. I will give it a go next week to see if I can get the stars and planets to line up and show it happening.

But please remember the reason for this thread was to debunk the myth that XPS does not hop channels which I think we have soundly proved once and for all.

I have also found a few other gremlins with the ASSAN system but my samples are pre production units and I will send the information I have to Meng before dumping it out in the battle field. I figure its only fair to let them see what I can do and if it is something they need to take a look at. Basically its an issue with servo centering but it easily could be my unit and nothing else.

OK,, Last one and hopefully this puts the case to rest.

You guys are the jury and the choice of what works best etc is all yours. Its horses for courses.

They all work, they all have different strengths and weaknesses.

Not unexpectedly, JD has not bothered to reply to or address any of the points I raised in the post from which the above quote was taken.

N'uff said.

Great work KIWI! Props for actually spending the $$$ to get the systems and the hardware to do some actual testing.

Respect.

Wow, an actual phone number for someone at XPS. How long have they been doing business with out any phone contact? Would be interesting to know how busy it gets from customers calling. Hopefully it isn't his personal phone but a company one
