Well, Futaba, for example, also claims to have a patent:
http://2.4gigahertz.com/features/features.html

And guess what? They display the patent number right in the feature list.
With google, one lands here:
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6141392.pdf

Would it not be a great way of advertising XPS, if people could easily find real patent numbers with real patents?

No wonder XPS has become the laughing stock all over Germany.

Apparently you missed the large number of people who tested themselves, as well as videos proving this fact? We milked that publicity for everything we could... much like reviving this thread brings more people to our website.

That's an interesting way of marketing your product. Make claims, don't back them up and then let your customers try and work out for themselves if it works. V1 didn't frequency hop as advertised and Jim can't even quote a patent number for his antenna. With so many credible systems out there XPS will always be a small player. Big enough to make Jim a lot of money though I guess. Every one at my club got rid of their XPS gear long ago.

Unfortunately the tester did not prove that the system did not hop. He proved it would not hop under his simulated conditions. During the test, he should have had a way to prove the system was not in saturation. Without that information the test is worthless.
If anyone would like to sell their XPS system, let me know. I would like to pick up a few more receivers at a good price

Yeah, we still have one guy that flies XPS. Everyone else wised up and ditched their XPS. But when that guy flies, we all keep an eye out. Don't wanna get hit in the head by the special spherical BS patent!!!!

Julez, face it. He will never give up the patent number. He can not state what does not exist!!!

Not only did v1 hop, we provided complete proof along with video proof to the public, and MAAA. We deliberately did not provide any information about this until we absolutely had to... why? Because during this controversy, our sales trippled. This is similar to this thread bringing customers to us.

The patents for the RF module we use do not belong to us, which is why I stated to contact the actual manufacturer for the information.

This thread might attract interest from potential customers, but I doubt it has a positive effect on them. If I marketed my business like this I would have to admit I had let myself down. Why not back your products with all the information people need to justify a decision to buy XPS? I was very keen to buy XPS when it first came out, but changed my mind when reading forums like this one. Jim's type of "controversy" advertising might attract a few extra customers, but repel many more at the same time. If the big players in this game marketed their products in this way their sales would surely drop very quickly. The more I think about the whole XPS situation I realise how crazy it all is. Good luck to you Jim, I'm sure you are doing very well out of XPS, but believe me you could be doing so much better. I'm glad there are so many other 2.4 systems to choose from now.
