I guess it makes sense that (at least so far) you haven't seen problems in the air... there's probably plenty of air circulating through while flying. But I never imagined that it could get that hot inside the fuse without ever starting the engine. I've got cans on my composite plane, with plenty of cooling slots under them, and after a landing, it gets pretty warm in the fuse... I'll have to keep an eye on this, and remember to cover the canopy when summer gets here. |

Lazun, can you positively say that it is the Rx and not the Tx module that is susceptible to high temperatures? Did you perform a test with the Rx in cool condition and the module in hot condition?

I was going to try and recreate this issue today, but mother nation is not letting up here in the North. I will try to do it later in the week once it starts to get sunny again. Chane

Thats wild! I would never have thought that. I have 4 6014's in use right now and where I live, it can get pretty hot during the day. I am hoping there is a sloution for this when Futaba finds out. My receivers are exposed to indirect sunlight especially without a canopy cover on them but I will keep my eyes open as far as heat inside the fuselage, and let some friends of mine know that bit of information. Thanks so much for the info. you have provided. You may have saved quite a few planes and I am sure many people will thank you too. Blair

Good info! We're using them in the jets down here. It gets hot as heck here in the summer! I guess I'll have to tell the guys that they need to use another receiver or put their jet back in the AC until they're ready to fly again, EEK! Of course this isn't futaba's fault but if they so decide to correct the issue it would sure be nice if they could update the 2.7v annoyance as well..

I just switched my big stuff over and I said in a previous post, it can get pretty hot here in the Northeast.

I just checked the instruction sheet that came with the 6014FS and there is no operating temperature spec. Will Futaba put up a technical advisory on this? Has there been cases reported outside of the USA so far?

I am in need of this rx for one of my planes since I am not using power expander or matchboxes. the 7 channel rx is not enough channels for the plane. Hm what should I do now. I need the 2.4 for Joe nall.
