Plus most of us would preflight landing gear ten times inverted in a stand. Since we all at one time have set are warbird up and turned on the radio to realize that the switch is in the retract position....lol

Hi Terry,

in your video, you did not get back out of the menu, but turned the tx off while being in programming mode. I also noticed, that when you turn your tx on and enter programming mode, it does not give you the last used screen, i.e. you had to press the button to get to the servo reverse screen (my DX7 always goes to the last used screen).

Hi Jurgen
I've tried all combinations I can think of to change the outcome to the right one. Getting back out of menu before turning the radio off doesn't change anything for this. It looses the change either way. You are correct that it doesn't come up in the last menu used. Maybe this is part of what has failed in the transmitter.

Thanks
Terry

Any updates concerning the Lithium battery thing?

I know that Graupner (=JR) TXes here do strange things, if this battery runs flat after some years or a decade.
So does the BIOS system of your PC.
I would definitely check first, if such a battery is used in your TX, and if yes, if replacing it solves the problem.
Maybe a bad batch of these batterys were used. S*** happens.

If you can spot anything that should be done differently, please let me know.

Thanks,

I saw you exit the reversing page and then go back into it to see that it was still reversed, but then you shut it off while it was still in the reversing menu. The fact that you exited the reversing menu once should have saved it though - I don't think there is anything in the manual saying that you have to do any of that, though, so that part is still not your fault.

I'm not sure if you have burnt any bridges at Horizon yet, but you could ask if they would give you a discount on one of the planes they carry...

No backup batteries, it's flash memory....

As to where you exit/shut off the radio, it's been some time since I played with my DX7 but IIRC it doesn't make any difference?????

I've tried all the combinations I can think of to get it to save a setting. It will remember which plane you were on (if you change to a different model in memory.)
I don't think I said anything on the phone call that would have burnt a bridge. I was upset, but kept under control. They could also add in their "boilerplate" in the manual to "wait a week before calling us after something bad happens." Might have been a good idea for posting too.

Thanks
Terry

Hi Terry,

what happens if you reverse some other channels, or change rates, or do changes on other model memories?

Jürgen

All model related changes disappear. I've tried changing expo on a channel and it will disappear. Also: travel, subtrim, mixes... ect - it all goes away once the TX is turned off and back on. It does remember what model you are on - if I change to a different model, it comes back up (but looses info changed in that planes menu once turned off.)

Thanks
Terry

There is obviously something wrong with the Flash memory (it does not use a battery).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_memory
Whatever you write to flash memory is stored there and loaded when you power up. If it cannot write it will still work but only using the settings that are default or the last ones written since it went bad.
There are normally at least 100,000 writes before flash memory quits, and may be better now as things are constantly improving in the memory world.
Send it in instead of losing flying time it aint gonna get fixed here!!
