Default Spektrum module problem

I have the Spektrum module in my Futaba 9 C and now I'm having a problem. I just got home from flying all afternoon with no problems at all. Now that I'm home, I wanted to go ahead and bind a new Rx to it, but the light on the module is flashing, and it won't let me bind the Rx. The voltage in my Tx battery is fine.

Anyone have a clue as to why this is happening, and what I can do about it?

Chris

Make sure you have all the aux antennas plugged in. I learned this one the hard way.

BIND SEQUENCE:
1-plug bind pin into rx bind port
2- ad power to rx
3- hold tx bind button
and
4- turn on tx.

when bind is established - remove pin.
On your setup - the tx is now bound to the rx and no further binding is required
just setup additional models on tx model memory
you will NOT have a Model Match feature as used on Spektrum or X9303/12x etc.. so be very careful on making certain you have correct model and tx model memory selected at the same time!!!
The slow flashing is simply a warning feature which tells you that the rx saw a low or power off during use. If you turn off the rx ONLY -this will occur next time you add rx power - To reset:
turn off both tx and rx.

Thanks guys. I understand how to bind the Rx, but my problem is that the light on myTx module is flashing and not allowing me to bind the Rx.

If I understand correctly it is a module issue not receiver issue?? I had this happen once before on a JR spektrum module. I unplugged the module from the transmitter, and tried it in another transmitter and it worked fine. I plugged it back in to the original trans and it has worked fine for over a year.

Yes, you are correct. I took the module out and then plugged it back in. About 20 minutes later, I went a turned on my Tx and it worked fine. I've been working on this plane all night now and the module hasn't given me any problems.

Is there a reason why it had this problem? I'd still like to know.

Chris

Hi Chris,
Not sure why it did it on mine, it only happened that one time when it was new. I have at least 200 flights on it since then with no issue's.

pull the module and take a cotton swab and clean the pins on the slot with alcohol. blow into the slots and make sure no dust. let it dry.

Put the module back in, and make sure it seats properly. then take a piece of black tape and tape it in so it wont move. my futuba let it move too much.

Remove the battery from the radio and charge it and make sure its good.

then turn everything back on and try.

If it happens again, do what I listed.

Dont forget everyone if you have the module, and setting up a new model you must be in PPM mode.

Chris - Ensure that the physical bind button was not 'jammed/stuck' on in the depressed position in the module.
