This hobby began as fun. No reason for back and fourth nut kicking. I like the way the cans sound. But I bought my Cap From Ivan G. 1800.00, My 3W 150 from David Payne 1000.00 And 1000.00's in servos and radio gear. Thats almost $4000.00. Now I have saved 1000.00 for a trailer since I sold my Van. I need to replace the duralites. Im sorry but I have a wife, 2 girls and im saving my money for these essintial items to fly. I LOVE JOE NALL> I LOVE HANGING OUT WITH YOU GUYS> I LOVE THE BEER>I cant afford to add cans on my list for my Cap this year and figure out how to install them on my cap or my PItts. Can you guys understand this. Not everyone in the hobby who flys at fields that don't have noise ristrictions can afford to just run out and purchase cans or has all the time to install them. Or from some of these post don't wan't to. Who cares if there only little higher in price than stock mufflers. I already made the purchase, My money is lined up for other things and I can't just run out and buy them. I guess the rich can, and who ever has sponsers. That is that. Sorry for rambling on about something that effects me.

how often does triple tree get used, maybe 5-6 times a year. there is so much money involved in all the events that it would be foolish to put a restriction on the field because they will lose money and have a lot of people very unhappy. i've lived across from my field for my whole life and it has never bothered us even before i started flying we never even noticed them even the big 62's with pitts mufflers and the jets. speaking of jets there is no way that you can quiet down a jet and dont give me anything about baffling the tailpipe or slowing down the planes because i've heard it all before, there is nothing you can do with a jet to quiet it down.

ARGGGG. Ok if I need cans I will get them. I guess I will have to stay in in a tent and eat crackers all week. If Mr. KrisW is reading this I could use some help on install cause I don't want to butcher my Cap or any other Triad residence. I really could use my money for other things. I agree they sound better. This topic is killing me as it is all of you. Sorry again for the uproar.

Bro, anyone can fly my birds. There are only ever two conditions:

1: You break it you bought it

2: Dont do anything that the CD of the event kicks me out.

The guys flying warbirds should have no problems just like the guys flying the big 3d planes. When I have gone to the 3w supershow in Germany more than half of the planes were warbirds and they all had very low noise. They all had exhaust systems that were not just a little box hanging on the side of the cyl. I have quite a few pics of the planes at the show and they were posted somewhere on the net for people to see.

What works the best and is the most reliable set up for a 3w150. Looked at the Aircraft international web site. Don't want to use bud lite cans but don't want to spend a ton of money either.

Hey Invert, take a look at post 44 in this thread. I posted a link to a thread that shows pics of how I installed MTW 110K cans in my 40% Carden Cap 232. It turned out very clean, no butchering necessary. I think you will be real happy with the end result. Take a look. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. I will help you out anyway I can. I know guys were installing Pefa cannisters in Caps before the MTW 110K's were available. Maybe that is what you would prefer for your 3W 150, that I am not sure about. Maybe someone else can chime in here that has some experience with that setup. I know that I gained performance with my DA 150 when I put the cans in. Midrange is awesome, and I love the sound. One more thing, my Cap weighs 38lbs. with the cans, this is with the fuel tank empty.

By the way, I like your color scheme, mine looks exactley the same. Mine used to belong to Mike McConiville, and that was his color scheme in 1999.

One thing is for sure, cans are not cheap. I paid $430.00 for mine. I made my own mounts. I believe I have a template in the thread I refered to earlier. If you can't find it, and want it, let me know. I can e-mail it to you as a pdf. The template will work for any canisters that have the same o.d. as the MTW 110's.
