He has been practicing that dive at our field. But he was starting the engine back up when he pulls out at 5' agl. It is something to see. He holds the carb closed during the dive and the prop starts spinning in the dive. When he pulls out he opens the carb and the engine fires.

The plane really shakes hard on the pull out. He has done this many many times.

When one does hard flying like that something is going to give at some point. I'd say if the plane didnt blow apart on the first 5 he got lucky.....each one after that God musta been with that plane.

Yes it was a super xtra. Yuri told me he did that diving start up at least 30 times and this was back in March.
