Firstly, please let me say that I do not disbelieve that the model rotated, I simply did not think that a turbine would produce the sort of torque to rotate a mode of this size. If in fact that it is turbine torque that is causing the rotation, I find myself both further educated, and impressed!

My 45lbs requires ~60hp to spin the compressor 115,000 rpms..

Thats a lot of power and if you don't take all the swirl out of the gasses I guess it could torque some... hard to say with out the DA&&&MMM VIDEO !!!!! hahah

Newton's Third Law

A force is a push or a pull upon an object which results from its interaction with another object. Forces result from interactions! As discussed in Lesson 2, some forces result from contact interactions (normal, frictional, tensional, and applied forces are examples of contact forces) and other forces are the result of action-at-a-distance interactions (gravitational, electrical, and magnetic forces). According to Newton, whenever objects A and B interact with each other, they exert forces upon each other. When you sit in your chair, your body exerts a downward force on the chair and the chair exerts an upward force on your body. There are two forces resulting from this interaction - a force on the chair and a force on your body. These two forces are called action and reaction forces and are the subject of Newton's third law of motion. Formally stated, Newton's third law is:
"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction

Hi : All is it just me or is there a lak of coverage on Joe Nall 2007. I used to like the free internet sending and recieving of video's, from an event like this ,Not all of us can get off work to go to the Nall. You can't tell me that the best we can do is a 3 or 5 second clip of the cool jet doing it's 3D routine. Agian just a guess but I'll bet there will be a DVD that has alot of that plane's flight in it. TomBob

I saw this jet all broke down and in what I would describe as a open sided suit case made out of Nomex and a carbon tube for the handle. I was totally intrigued with the flight performance and was amazed how small it all broke down into for transporting. There has to be allot of jet guys talking about this one. Wish I had pics. Waiting for vids myself.

I spoke with Ralph for a while about it during the Friday night BBQ... The plane is a model of a new Chinese jet fighter. It is his design, completely designed to do 3D. He does not fly it at high speed at all. He designed the plane around the Jet Cat engine for optimal power to weight and wing area.

He developed the thrust vectoring system as well... it only uses two servos, one for up and down the other for left and right... it is mixed with the rudder servo. He's using a JR10X to run the whole deal. The interesting thing is that at speed the vectoring does NOTHING to the jet... the airframe exceeds the forces develped by the thrust vectoring, but when it is flying slower the vectoring completely takes over from the airframe... Oh... during all the thrust vectoring stuff... the engine is wide open.

Oh, about the torque rolling....you can throw all that math away because... he does not know why it rotates, it will rotate in either direction. He believes it is the wind. He has no control over which way it goes. (this came right from Ralph's mouth)

This thing is BAD ASS. And if you get a chance to talk to Ralph... do so, he is a hell of a nice guy... and you can tell absoultly loves the hobby.

I have good high definition video of this jet flying on three different days at Nall. I will include the best of that footage on the "Joe Nall 2007 Higher Plane Film Festival" DVD expected to release mid summer 2007. In the mean time I will pull together a few highlights and post on my site. I should have it up late today..tomorrow latest. I'll post a link here once it's up. -Fred
