Great video! Note the ever-present massive centerline tank. This was my favorite plane growing up. Always thought it was a beautiful piece of work.

Awesome plane. The AF tried to keep them, but DOD said NEGATIVE... It was replaced by the F-111, which is another bad boy.

I can't see the vids at work, but there is one also on display at the Pima Air Museum in Tucson.
The museum is across the street from Davis-Monthan where they have the bone yard. What a fabulous place, where you can see the B-58 as well as many 1-off airplanes. There is the F-107 as well, which is really cool looking.

That B-58 had the massive fuel centerline tank, and the nose gear would not fold into the wheel well without being redesigned because it would not clear the tank. So they made the gear fold in the middle where the wheels and half the strut folded foward and the then the whole thing folded back. Essentially it cut the length in half so it would clear on the way up and down.

Crazy complex and added risk are never good things.
Beautiful airplane for sure.

The original movie 'Fail Safe' used B-58s. Good times!
