That's what I keep telling myself! I am not a huge jet fan, but the more I see this model, the more I want to sell off some of my gas stuff! I am really digging the looks, scheme, and thought of this bad boy in the air. It is probably not a good one to start with, but man, I could be hooked! As many on here know, I am not a huge fan of the crowd burning 3,867 mph passes 30 feet from the flight line, but I would like to get a jet someday. How much harder is something like this to fly than a Bobcat lets say? Is that not the trainer? Thanks... I hope I can avoid one for another year ![]() http://troybuiltmodels.com/CAfl16.jpg

Or, should I really start out with a Rookie instead? Be honest.

Man I freaking love jets. I wish I could afford one. As soon as my budget allows me to afford an expensive airplane that's not an IMAC machine, I will jump on one. I just love the sound, speed, and BBQ smell.

My buddy has two of them. They are plenty fast, aerobatic, and easy to fly. One has a Wren and the other has a P-120?(forget the specifics). They both perform very well, but the Wren spools up faster. This is a key feature, as a common mistake rookie jet guys make is not carrying enough throttle on landing, and by the time they realize it and go to apply more throttle, they find that they can't get it right away. I think it is an awesome jet, but I don't have $10k to toss around.

I have only flown 2 jets, the bobcat and the flash. A buddy gave me his Bobcat, which came from John Redman, to get my waiver with. I put around 20 flight on it and it is a nice easy plane to fly. It flys slow very well. This one is the orange and yellow scheme, I found it hard to see so I flew it in close and just did turn arounds at the end of the box. It lands slow with full flaps and a little crow in the ailerons. I had the chance to put 5 flight on a Blue Angel scheme Flash, that color scheme is horrible to see in the air. The jet flies very easy and it also lands very slow with full flaps. I have a Flash but I only have 2 flights on it. Both flights went well. As soon as the weather cools below 100 I will start flying it. Either jet will be a good first jet as long as you are an experienced pilot and you have good jet pilots to learn from. approach.jpg These photos were the landing on the maiden flight landing.jpg This is the Blue Angel scheme in the air DSC_0029 029 (Large).jpg |
