Yup - get back up there and get it done!

People do ask waaaayyyyy to much for lots of this second hand stuff! I'm sorry but it doesn't take too much to assemble an arf. Anyone who pays 2k to have a Flash built of 5k for a second hand one minus turbine needs their head examined. I don't care if it was built by a team of rockstars and world leaders - that's still a total rip off!

Keep doing your proper build and be proud to rock up at the field with something pretty much unique that you've rescued from the dead

I agree totally, i did notice the price came down close to $1000.. but its still insanely pricey IMO for "used" equipment.

Anyways, hopefully the F-18 should be getting the remainder of the fuel system, batteries/charger, radio gear, paint and ground support stuff here in the near future. Then all that is left, is the need to get the other turbine upgraded to autostart.. i think im might have to "persaude" my friend into doing some trading for my zero time airstart for a autostart he has laying around. Or i'll just have to stick both turbines on the bench and measure spool-up/down times, and thrust settings to see how an air-start (converted to electric start) and a autostart would do mixed together. if they are close, i'll "think" about using them, if not, it'll sit waiting for the $$$ to come up for the autostart upgrade.

Here's a bit of another small update:

A good friend got ahold of a slightly used Dewalt battery pack, so i've got all the A-123 batteries built up for the reciever and ECU's. I placed an order for the remaining items to finish the fuel system.

I've got to remove all the internals from the jet and do a little bit of weathering to the inlet splitter plates and the LEX fences and then i can clearcoat the entire airframe, then the major tasks will be done. I'm "slowly" beginning to build up the ground support items, and am beginning to start working on the turbine test bench, so here in the next week or 2, i hope to have both turbines up and running for testing. Then all that is left, is to purchase the new set of wheel brakes from YA and 1 servo and a matchbox. their is a good possibility i will be leaving out of town once again during november for work, which will probly pay for an autostart upgrade along w/ all the other scale items I plan to install after the test flights (cockpit, cockpit frame detail kit, armament package, etc).

Fuel system should be here on tuesday or wed i suspect, so fuel system build should begin shortly afterwards.

Im also taking the plan out tomorrow to get some good photos of it with all the markings on it, so i'll post up a few new pics tomorrow.
