ohhh your gonna have a blast as well! i'm assuming you have the giant P-47. I had one of the 60size ones waaayy back in the day. great flying airplane!

Ok,
i need everyones opinion on the following pics. These are the wing pylons i've made up from some scrap ply, balsa and foam. How does everyone think they look proportion wise? I've looked at 3 different 3 views (all off the internet) and 1 plastic model and the pylons are an average of the measurements i've gotten from those sources. i think they look just about right proportion wise. If everyone else agree's, i'll be filling in all the imperfections and glassing, doing all the surface detail work to them and making molds for em to make fiberglass parts for.

Thomas, looks killer! It's a shame you won't be at the Jumbo..

Hope to see it fly sometime! Let me know when you want to do a scale F-15. I know where to find some documentation...lol

Chris
you pay for the plane and materials and i'll do ya an F-15 actually.. the next "big" project i'm getting into, is another BIG F-18. The exact same one i'm building now.. so i'll have 2 big F-18's. the second one is going to be a VERY long term project, as it'll get alot more scale detail attention to this one, as i think i'm going to build it to Top Gun standards

43 hours of detail work later, all of the riveting work is completed on the entire fuselage, wing panels, flaps, ailerons, stabs, vertical tails, etc. As far as detail work, i've got to paint the exhaust nozzle's, "ducts" and gun plated, then start placing markings (once they arrive) and get started on the weathering. Then it will be ready for clear coating and final fit out.

Did you do the panel lines yourself? I see that you did the rivets.
