Here's a quick (30 seconds) vid of the gear and door sequence.

Anyone know how fast the full-scale Speed brake actuation is?

Job openings are always open if you have a Commercial Multi-engine license w/ a 1st or 2nd class medical and an instrument rating.

Ok,
im BACK! not much is going to be done on the F-18 for the next few months. I'll slowly be pluggin away at the little things. The main thing i'm planning on getting done over the next few weeks is to finish up another project i began. And after spending $325 i finally got the stainless tailpipes for the F-18, so i'll be working on getting them and the turbines installed. Here's some pics of the initial mock-up of the tail pipes in the plane.

As you can see in the pics, space is at a premium in this thing. Its amazing that even though this is a very large jet, space is getting very minimal as the project progress's.

OK
i've moved into my new place.. God it sucks hauling 40lbs of F-18 up a flight of stairs. lol Should of seen the looks of the neighbors as i unloaded it from the truck. haha

Anyways. the turbines are in and mounted along w/ the bypass' and the tailpipes are ready to be mounted. I've still got some fine tuning to do on the alignment of everything, but once again, b/c of all the hurricanes tearing up the gulf coast area's i'll be delayed on getting much work done, as i'll be in and out of town until the end of the hurricane season on work.

alright.. here's a pic finally: Everything is aligned, just have to drill the mount holes for the tailpipe straps and bolt them in place. but i think i'm going to wait to do that after i get the thing clearcoated. Which mean i have to remove EVERYTHING. which is no big deal, b/c i need to get to the stab servo's so i can replace the monster 1/4 scale JR ones back there w/ some hitec 5955's.

The F-18 is looking awesome!

Yea,
i'll agree with you on that. Theirs a guy on RCU selling a built and flown flash RTF minus turbine adn Rx. for $5,500.. little on the steep side IMO, considering its only about $3800 worth of stuff.

F-18 is slowly getting there. honestly i'm beginning to get burnt out on the project as its been taking so dang long, and all the things left are mostly the nit picking $300-800 items that add up to about $2800 to get it going. i need some sponsors. I'm just REALLY glad the "wife" has NO idea how much money i've put into it already... or else she'd be asking for a bigger rock haha
