Ok guys I put this plane together about a month ago just to see if the plane would be a good candidate for glow. I bought a new 3DHS Velox 47" Electric airframe and decided to make it a slimer. I will start with the kit. The Velox is just one of the many planes that they offer in the 47" size. I decided on this kit after seeing one fly at a fly-in I went to a few months earlier. The kit is designed for electric but the only change I had to make was to change the firewall location and add a fuel tank for the engine where the motor batts usually go. The kit is one of the best I have had the privilege the assemble. It comes with carbon wing tube and carbon gear. I won't go through the whole assembly process as it was very easy to do. The instructions were very well written with good pics for reference. I did have to move the firewall back around a inch and a half to make the motor fit the cowl good. The recommendation on servos were for the HS65MG servos all around. I used a HS50 for the throttle servo. After a few flights it was determined that the HS65's were not enough for the power I had. I ended up putting the HS85MG servos in to fix the blow back problems I was seeing. I have not had a chance to fly it with the 85MG's yet but I am hoping to get a chance this weekend. The engine that was installed first was a well used OS25FP that I had laing around. That one proved to be a little weak. I then borrowed a buddies OS25FX and it had a little more on top but was still not enough. So I decided to put the mighty OS32SX in the nose to see if that would do it. Well the 32 was the ticket. I will now hover at just a little above half and rocket out when full throttle is applied. All the engines that were tried used the same Macs mini pipe that was on the original 25FP that I had. I did run into a problem with the fuel system that I discovered with the first engine we tried. I vertical up-lines and hovering the motor would start to lean out. This was due to the fuel tank so far from the motor. It was back against the wing-tube to keep the CG as close to neutral while fuel was being used. I fixed the problem with a Perry osculating pump mounted on the side of the motor box. This plane is great for glow. IMO it flies just as good as the electric set up. It will fly a little faster on glow but will slow down to a crawl if you want. If you have never seen a 3DHS Velox in action you are missing out. This plane will do some of the wildest tumbles you have ever seen at full throttle and fly right out unharmed. I have did one full throttle blender and I just knew the plane was toast . It came right out without a crack anywhere .If you are looking for a good plane to put a old 32 size motor in and 3D with the 47" Velox from 3D Hobby Shop is it. It is a good plane to just throw in the car and head to the field with to throw down. OK now with the Pics and Vids. Jared |

The 47" Velox is my favorite plane of all time. i had over 500+ flights on mine before it's demise, and I will have another. Your conversion is cool as hell. Looks like it flys GREAT! Th Velox is the only little plane I have ever elevatored from 300 feet to 0 feet in complete control and flew KE out at 1' across the field. Love that plane. Nice vids!

Nice job! If I'm reading the OS specs right, that engine makes about 900 output watts...and that looks about right in the vid. Cool.
