I see there are several hotels in Canton, Woodstock, Cumming, Acworth, and Cartersville. Can anybody from the local area make any suggestion on a hotel.

After being the CD for the Vegas Huckfest......

I want nothing more than to attend this one and fly, fly, fly and then fly some more!

But I can't make it as I'll be TDY for the military that weekend.... I hope to make the Houston Huckfest though.

Not sure what route you'll be taking down, but I would think I-95, then I-85 to Atlanta? If so, you'll be passing right by Jay, Robert, and myself. Maybe we'll hook up with ya along the road depending on when and where you pass by.
Hi Larry
Yes, exactly, I will be coming down Rte 95 S, I will try to get someone to ride with me as 16 hours maybe too much for one person, we will definitely hook up on my way down, what better group of people than you guys?
The Rickjamesbeotch in me is getting exited.

IFLY,

If you are looking for hotels you may also want to look around the Alpharetta area, it is less than twenty minutes away and everything you need is right there ( food, stores and bars).

Is the motorhome thing OK? I understand there are no hook-ups.

For easy access, I would suggest any of hte hotels listed in the Cumming or Alpharetta area... something close to GA-400. There are a number to choose from, from the Marriott in Alpharetta to several less expensive options in Cumming.

As for Motor Homes.. I'll defer to the Extreme Flight sponsors... there's plenty of level space out there, but I don't know how they plan to manage it.. it could be eaten up very quickly.

Motor homes will be allowed on a first come first served basis. There are no hook-ups however.
I posted a brief update on another thread yesterday which I'll post again here:

HUCKTOBERFEST 2007
On October 26-28 2007, Extreme Flight R/C in cooperation with the Flying Giants website will host The Hotlanta Hucktoberfest 3D Fly-in. The event will take place at the Georgia Model Aviator’s field in Ballground, GA approximately 35 miles north of downtown Atlanta. This event will consist of 3 days devoted to 3D flying, fellowship and camaraderie. Top 3D pilots from all over the U.S. have committed to attending and we hope you will consider joining us for what promises to be a world class event.
The GMA field will close to general flying on Friday October 26th at noon and the event will last until 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Come on out and see the latest in high performance aerobatic aircraft technology, check out the set-ups on these aircraft, talk with some of the top pilots in the nation, and fly, fly, fly!!!
Pilot registration will begin at noon on Friday. Registration fee is $25.00 which will include a BBQ dinner on Saturday evening. Proof of AMA membership required. Thousands of dollars in merchandise will be raffled off over the course of the event.

The GMA field is located at 8250 Old Federal Rd in Ballground, GA 30107. If driving into the Atlanta area from US HWY 85 or 75, take the 285 bypass and exit on GA 400 north toward Cumming, GA. Take a left on 369 (the first traffic light you will encounter on GA 400) and travel approximately 8.5 miles. Make a right onto Old Federal Rd and you will see the flying field on your right in approximately ¾ of a mile.

Below is a list of area hotels. These hotels are approximately 12 miles form the GMA field. Camping is allowed on-site, but no hook-ups are available.

I really want to make it. I was hoping that you would have had the Yak55 profile done by then but I think its a bit too early. I tried killing my old EF profile edge a couple of weeks ago. Battery croaked on me and the plane just wouldn't break. She's a little rough around the edges, but still flying.
