First of all, this month was filled with a ton of great shots. My goal was to go through all the pictures one at a time and look at the positives and negatives. Some obvious plusses were composition, color, focal clarity, action, and if you were unique you get an extra pat on the back. It was shocking just how many were given a good nod as I made my first passes. From there, things got really tough.

Thank you for allowing me to choose from this great collection.

#1 CRASH
This crash picture is a winner because it has several great elements. The action is incredible, with dirt flying and plane in a less than optimal position showing a once in a lifetime shot that cannot be duplicted. Just take a look at the control deflection...don't tell me the pilot is not at a pucker factor of 6 (out of 5). The background is soft, bringing out the action even more and there is no background clutter. Great work.

#2 TNB
What a unique shot this is. It is almost abstract, with a great focus and color palette giving a real neon feel to the picture. These shots are extremely difficult if you don't have a tripod and some great timing. Nice!

#3 Krashmaster81
This perspective makes your shot a winner as well. The background does not interfere with the subject. The ground rising to meet the plane is exactly what you want in this kind of shot. Even the sun plays a role in this picture. Way to use terrain to your advantage.

Here are some that I felt deserve honorable mention.

#1 Selleri
Your shot was a good one with the Russian transport in the background. Once I read your caption about driving off a stray transport, I really could not stop looking. I love the skis too.
Note: Your other shot was great, but I wanted to keep with an aircraft theme as much as I could. I am allergic to freezing my butt off, so I don't think I will come fly with you guys anytime soon.

#2 Sweetpea
Your photo was a very nice composition. The background and perspective gave a great balance to this shot. Nice colors as well.

#3 RCPlane
Awesome background and wonderful color composition. Very pleasing to the eye. This shot and many others fit that grid we love to talk about so often. See last month if you don't understand what I mean. Mr. Santos did a great job laying it out for us.

so you know. I can't take pics worth a crap. My brother came to visit and snapped that picture with my cheapo digital camera. I wish he'd quite his job and become a photo journalist. You should see the pics of nature he took with my crappy camera.
