| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | The first EMAC of the year is in the books. To view the results click here. We had a great turn out, great weather, and a special visit from Jeff, Szueber who put on an incredible freestyle show at noon time. Jeff's brother Matt who also fly's at the unlimited level and is a great 3D pilot decided not to fly due to the lack of electron's available (batteries) so that Jeff could compete in the contest and do the 3D show. Matt stayed busy calling for a LOT of us. ![]() Also from out of town we had Curtis and Howard Pilcher. Hopefully we will be seeing more of the fine competitors in the near future. Of course the usual local crew was out in force (too many to name) and helping out every way they can. Tucson Shootout Judge and Unlimited pilot Steve Nelson helped out by judging the morning rounds. Tim Attaway who was home sick with a bad case of the flu, somehow found the energy to come out and hag out with us for a little bit. At the closing ceremonies, Steve Dente gave out some nice prizes from our sponsors to the contestants and volunteers. All and all is was a great season opener, and for those of you interested, the next EMAC contest will be on 04/12/08 Pedro. Last edited by pbrantuas : 03-11-2008 at 03:19 PM. |

| Not too lazy to fly IMAC! ![]() | Thanks everyone, it was a fun day! Thanks Pedro for loaning the batteries, so Curtis and I could both fly the Airwild Edge. And thanks Steve for the plane you brought for me to fly, if I couldn't find some batteries. And thanks Ray for loaning us the 12" JR extention we needed at the field.[I'll make sure you get it back soon.] And thanks to the sponsers, Kudos.

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | Well, we managed to sneak a great weather day between two big storms, and had a great event. Tim Attaway, our regular CD was sick, but as usual the crew stepped up and got it done. Special thanks to Ray Fulks, Pedro Bratuas, Steve Manganeli, and Steve Nelson for their efforts. I would also like the that the Szeubers for coming down to fly with us. Jeff showed us how to do precision right, and as you can see from the pictures, put on a noon time freestyle that blew the crowds mind. Music and all! Thanks Jeff! Mat promises to fly next time. Judging from the crowd reaction, I think a noon time freestyle contest may become part of future events. Although today was pretty nice, it has been raining a lot lately, so the field was basically a muddy swamp. However, there was a small, high spot that was dry and firm enough to land and take off on. If you got outside this small area, your plane sank to the wheel pants, nosed over, and got real muddy. It was more like landing on the deck of a carrier, you had to hit the spot a do a very short roll out. Most people did a good job, and hit the two wire by coming in with a high angle of attack, and very slow. Those that didn't, made a big mess. In either case, it was entertaining to watch the landings, and cheers went up after each one. I would also like to thank the sponsors who donated great prizes. www.flydma.com A great new company: http://www.extremercproducts.com and of course, Horizon Hobby. JR Great Times! Thanks for coming out everyone. |

| Out of Luck ![]() | It was an excellent EMAC today. We caught a hole between storms so the weather was great. The carrier landings were very entertaining. Jeff's flying was superb. It was great (and a little intimidating) to see the Intermediate sequences flown. Many thanks to the sponsors, judges and all the other volunteers who keep the series going. And thanks especially to Steve Dente. In addition to everything else he does for EMAC, Steve even sacrificed his own second Sportsman round when no one else was available to judge. Can't wait for the next event! |
