Okay guys, here goes! I know I have been talking about this plane since I first saw and flew the 43% prototype late last summer, but I just got home from the field and had the opportunity to fly the 36% with a DA-85, and all I can say is......WOW!!!

I fly the PAU 30% Edge and it ROCKS!!, but the 36% is just AWESOME!

-------------------------DISCLAIMER-------------------------------------

I am a HACK pilot.....been flying for awhile and am learning 3D, have flown quite a few different planes, so I CAN make comparisons, but I am still a stick-banger!!!

----------------------end of DISCLAIMER-----------------------------------

This was the second flight on this particular plane AND DA-85 and I was impressed! I felt very "locked-in" from the minute I took the sticks. The motor ran flawlessly (albeit set a bit rich) all day and provided PLENTY of power for this airframe to do anything thrown at it with ease!

I have been flying my 30% er for two years and still do not feel as comfortable as I did on this 36%!!! Hovers locked in IMMEDIATELY and harriers were the same way (and I am still learning GOOD harriers!).

This plane is a winner, boys!

I thought I would get by on the cheap and just fly OPP's this year (there are TWO at my field), but I am gonna have to step up and get one for myself as I do not think the others are gonna be willing to let go of the sticks!!

I know where my income tax return is going now!!

Can't wait to hear others' comments as they start getting 'em in the air!

now, WHERE'S ALL THE VIDEO???

Regards,

Astrohog

I got 2 more flights in yesterday before the rain set in. Got it all trimmed and mixed out and is flying awesome. Best flying 35% 3D plane I have flown, really like this one.

Hey guys,

Here is a little video from today of the maiden flight. Motor is pretty rich on this flight so I kept it up a little. Were going out tomorrow and try and shoot some more as it was cold and raining a little today. Anyway, the DA-85 is quite a little motor and pulls this aircraft around effortlessly. I would also like to make excuses for my thumbs in the video. They have seen little use this winter.

Enjoy!
Ken

Ken,
I am glad to hear that you like the 85. I received my Ultimate on Thursday and should have it in the air with the 85 in a couple of weeks. Once you get a feel for this plane and the 85. If you can recommend a prop for the Ultimate and the 85 that would be great. Sorry to hijack the thread.

Thanks guys,

I am using a PAU 26x10 for break-in on the 85 right now. I may change it to a 27x3db 3d prop after it's broken in, we'll see. A 26x10 is what I use on my Ultimate with the ZDZ-100.
