Did it fly? Yes it did! All I can say is WOW . Had I just left the elevator trim centered when I set the plane up I would not have needed any trim at all!. This plane rocks, to say the least. I had to wait on two Super Cubs (full scale) to land before I could fly (I was at Snohomish, wind blowing, no jacket, shorts, ten degress cooler than home and a little convergence zone action with the wind, watching my plane get blown all over the sky while doing stall turns.) I'm impressed with this plane. I didn't take the time to fly using high rates, I was having such a good time with low. Will try and get to the field ASAP to fly more. Rolls are axial and I don't think I'll need any differential. Inverted 45 on the uplines were neutral, and I may have to move the CG forward. Removing my ten pound pilot figure will resolve that issue. Still smiling!

I was told by one of the Super Cub pilots there will be a fly-in this weekend. The only other RC type out there was a young man named Garret, that flew the daylight out his little Twist. He got a ride in a Cub with Tundra tires, pilot said he was from Texas. Cub pilot was rather stand off-ish to me. He asked my if my model was an Extra, told him it was an Edge. His reply: Ahhh flip-flop, they're all the same!

Dan, that's when you ask that pilot if his plane is an Aeronca Champ, and then say ah flip flop, all those old planes are the same. That should make him happy. Congrats on the maiden by the way!

Ryan, Thanks! I learned long ago that you never know who you're talking to. I figured he had enough of the "Cub" type questions. John, A Cub is one of the best. If you end up with one, enjoy!

Hi guys! Been reading the whole thread now, and I'm quite sure that this plane will be my next project. Getting tired of my SD Extra 260 30% although it is fun to fly! But I'm not sure which engine and electrical equipment to use. I also want smoke to make sure this will be a killer at the field ![]() I can't really decide between DA-100 or DA-85 and whether to use cans or just mufflers. Think I'm leaning a bit over to a DA-85 on can. What would be the best combination for badass smoke? ![]() Do I really need a PowerExpander? I've been seeing several of you just use a Wolverine, 2 regs, 2 batts directly into the reciever. This is weight saving and money saving! What do you guys think? Opinions are very welcome! |

Hey Dan, looking at Kitfoxes, but do have a cub that I can fly if I find somewhere to keep it ![]() william, best combo for bad ass, DA100 hands down. On electronics, no extra stuff needed, two batts, into two switches, into one or two rx's, clean, simple, effective. Thats how Ive been rocking 50cc to 150cc planes for over 4 years.

William123, I am currently flying my edge with a DA85. If I were going to do it again I would go with a DA100 with stock mufflers. Two reasons, the 85 needs a tunned pipe to really shine. The PAU edge would require a lot of modification to do so. Second, the 85's have been having a lot of problem with leaking gaskets. I would go with one of the new 5oz lighter DA 100's. I may be changing mine shortly as well. I will save my 85 for a later project. I think we will see more models being designed around the 85 tuned pipe combo as in the case of the new QQ 101. Hopefully they get this leaking problem corrected in the mean time. Eric |

OK, thanks for the input! So, then I'm leaing (once again ) against the DA-100 with stock muffler. IS this a good setup for smoke? I have seen that that there is muchc arguing which smoke pump is the best, but I ain't going for the Sullivan after reading bad things about it. Does the TME work good? Once again, thanks for the advices |
