I did use a dark green blanket to cover, and when I pulled it back for a flight, DAMMN it was too late. You live and learn. It happen on my 37.5% TT TOC Yak also. DAMMN BURNED twice in the same time frame. <RUTNBUC> |

Dark=HOT! Try a white blanket next time......light colors reflect the light

Any recommendations on the best fitting Carbon Fiber landing gear for the 36% Edge? Switching mine over to canister exhaust next week and would like to compensate for the added weight. I don't want to give up any ground clearance. I hate using a 28x10 Mejlick CF for a weed wacker! Still flying great and holding up well after 100+ flights! Bill |

Here are a couple pics that David Mahan sent me of Ken rocking the 36% with a DA-85 at Bellair Big Birds a couple weeks ago. Nice flying Ken, and thanks for the pictures David!

Here are some pics of the Edge I've been building. It's an awesome looking plane, and I can't wait to get it in the air. Some of the things I've done to it along the way are fuel proof the motor box/firewall with thinned down epoxy. I pinned the firewall all around, and used some monokote to seal off the cannister tunnel (a Ken-ification). I'll be using smoke in this one so I'll be sealing off both sides of all the hinges with clear ultracote to help protect the pin hinges. Equipment is: DA-100 on MTW cans Dual 5200 mah Li-Ion's and Fromeco Regs SmartFly power expander Fromeco Wolverine Switch Jr HD switch and 2100mah Nimh on ignition 2x 32 Oz tanks Sullivan Skywriter Hitec 5955's all around, single 8711 on the rudder. Spektrum Receiver My goal is to have it finished by this coming 4th July weekend. I better stop typing and get back to work! |

CSpaced; I think that you will find that the DA-100 on cans is a good choice. Your electrical setup sounds great, maybe a bit large on the ignition battery. My ignition battery is a 1600 and I can fly all day on it. Your servo choice should be fine as well. You are really going to like the way this aircraft flies. I just completed by sixth gallon of fuel through mine with a DA-100, so my motor is broken in now. As for the aircraft, it just keeps getting better and better. |

Looks good! I put 4 flights on mine today, powered with a DA100 on stock mufflers using Spektrum guidance. My new favorite plane to fly!
