I recently switch my prop from the PAU 27x10 to a Xoar 25x12x3. It has a DL100 with DL cans, it was getting 6100 rpm with the 2 blade when I switched (produced 94 db). The 3 blade spins at 5900 and produces 88 db. It still has unlimited verticle and slows down nice, smooth response, it does not spool up as quick as the 2 blade though. I have about 2 flights with the 3 blade, it seems to be a good setup so far. John congrat's on the maiden.

That 3 Blade sounds great for IMAC

The 3 blade seems good so far, but then again I only got 2 flights with this prop so far. Hoping to get a lot more flights this weekend, will be able to tell better than but so far it looks promising. Hoping to get some photo's of it flying as well.

well, the 3 blade wont perform as good as the two, but Im sure will work well for imac. I have no noise issues at my field, so Im stock mufflering it with a two blade. I LOVE that sound!

When it is time for me to purchase a new 100cc plane, this sucker is it. ![]() I absolutely love the colors and look. Everything that I read says it is an awsome performer. I tried to buy this plane when I was buying my 35%er and it was out of stock ( for a long time ). I couldn't wait any longer and bought a Hangar 9 35% Extra 260. It is an awsome flying plane, but there is just something about the 36% PAU Edge that gives me a WOODY.

I don't have any noise issues at the local field here as well, but for an IMAC plane I wanted it to be quiet but also to still have some power as well. With the 3 blade so far, it seems to cover them all. It does still rip the prop at wot level flight, which I did not think it would do. The other DL I have has the TBM compact mufflers on it with a 27x10. The TBM gets rid of the high pitched bark and turns it into a lower pitch bark. I have a ZDZ rv with Jtec's double snuffler muffler, now that has a very nice low growl pitched sound. I will probally put that back into the 33% Extra 330L, once I get a new Ultimate (I will put the DL back in that one). 2robinhood, I know what you mean. I love the colors and like you said, there is just something about this plane that appealling. You will also be very pleased with PAU, great company, great products, great people and great service!

Ok everyone......I have put this plane together and am now working on the cowl. I have the DA100 installed and have the DA Compact Mufflers. I have cut out the cowl for the airflow and two holes for the mufflers to hang down. Problem is, the cowling will not fit or slide onto the plane over the motor and mufflers. HOW, did you all get around this problem???? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks Terry |
