I'm actually wondering if they cut off 1/2 inch or so of the mufflers to make them shorter and fit within the cowling. The problem is just getting the cowling over the mufflers so they can stick down through the holes that I cut for them. With the size of the DA100, you can't really turn or adjust the cowling because it rubs against the sides of the motor.

I have canisters as well, so I can't help you either. I know in my Ultimate, I had to make the holes for the mufflers (TMB compact) an oval shape, not sure if that is what they did or not. I will browse for some photos of thier planes.

Evidently cutting the mufflers was not the answer either. I cut about 3/4 inch from each pipe and still cannot move the cowling around and over the mufflers. If I cut any more off, they won't stick out below the cowling. I may just give up on that ##%%$ thing and buy canisters. Also, just order a new cowl with only the back airflow hole cut out. |

For canisters, I have a DL100 mounted in mine, so I bought a set of DL cans that they use on the DL50's. The headers that come with them do not fit (made for the 50's), so I bought a set of DA flex headers. The cans are very light but with that are fairly thin. So far I got about 10 flights before one can lost the back end, it was replaced under warrenty. Got about 4 more flights so far after changing the one can (14 total flights this year). I really like the way the plane handles and looks. I have been practising the Basic IMAC sequence with it, which is hard enough for me to do. Everyone at the local field likes the looks and how it handles while flying, it make me look good. LOL.
