I think I would shy away from the 106 on this one, just for balance reasons. Though the claimed weight is about the same for a DA100 and the 3W 106, the 3W is quite a bit heavier almost 1/2 a lb. Mine balanced perfectly with an 85 with the battery's on the CG. Eric |

Hi Eric, No worries about the CG. Glad to hear how your balanced with the 85. Did you put your CG at the 7" location? As far as the 100's go, there fine. A pound in the nose is worth about an inch of CG. The hardware setup picture I posted of the DA-100 install is with a 6-1/2" CG. Ken

I guess you have plenty of room to move battery's if you had to. Mine is 6 1/2-6 3/4 ish so far. I'll check it again when it's all mounted and get a finished weight. Eric Last edited by ciressarg; 01-30-2008 at 03:41 PM. Reason: added info |

Those are 3/4" aluminum cable stops. I buy them here at a local hardware store. I bought the last ones they had but they were supposed to get some more. Let me know if you can't find them and I'll see if they got some more in. They cost about a buck a piece. Ken

Ken, are you going to the Hobby show in Monroe Feb 9th and 10th? If so will you have any of these there? I'm looking for an Edge 540 for the new DA-85 |

Chris, Sorry, not this year. I have too many plates in the fire already. Ken

I posted these pics on another forum, but I thought I would share them here also. DA-85 billet alum. engine mount and tunnel mod. The mount is a little heavy about 5oz I'm planning on milling out another 1.5 -2oz later. Right now I'm anxious to get the airplane flying. Hopefully the wind and rain stay away long enough Saturday AM for a maiden. Eric |

Eric, what type alum. did you use on that mount? I was thinking of doing the same thing with mine. Chris

The Alum. was a drop probably 6062 and yes it was made on a Mitsubishi wire EDM. I could have taken a skim cut with a mill just to make it shiny, but the cowl hides it anyway. The choke is manual I just put a ball joint on it for a handle. Eric |
