Chris, 423 ounces on the rudder will be more than enough for precision and 3D flight. The rudder on the Ultimate is very effective. What is the speed of the servo? Lots of great deals on used DA-100s out there, that would make a great combo with this airframe.

Hi Ryan,
The speed on the 94870 is .15 sec @ 6vdc. Comparable to a 5955. Price was a little spendy.....$125 but then again, I was going to run 2 5955's on the rudder so it saved me a little.

Question is...........What color schemes do you have the PAU sticker in? Do you have any really large versions?

I'm doing my Ulti in Red/Black/White (maybe a touch of yellow also) Would really like a PAU sticker for the sides of the planes (along with Ultimate)

The PAU vinyl graphics are available in all colors and sizes from Aerographix (agraphix@fidmail.com). Bryan does the graphics for the newer PAU models which include the PAU logo in vinyl.

I've never flown the QQ yet. The PAU flies sweet. The DL100 would be a good fit for it as well (mine is getting a 3W106). Remember there is a large price difference from the QQ to the PAU as well.

Big thing is they are 2 different types of Biplanes, so they won't fly exactly the same anyways.......similar to a Cap vs Extra vs Edge vs Yak vs Sukhoi......

Joeo, I have run both a 3w106 comp series and the DA100 on my PAU ultimate and for me it is the DA100 hands down. The 3dub had more peak power but they both have more than enough power. The DA is lighter and costs way less. I prefer the DA hands down. My 3dub took for ever to break in and was very tempermental (always needing tuning and needle adjustments), it seemed that every time I went to the field the cowl had to come off for something, however the DA has not needed a thing from day one. It idles great and throttle transition is awsome with no burbles or coughs. I am speaking from my experiences only. I have had several 3w's (one or two ran great for me, 3w 85 and 3w55) but all i buy now are DA's. I know this is kind off a sensative issue so I REPEAT, these are MY experiences only. I would also agree that the pitts and the ulti's are going to fly very different. I prefer ultis for 3D and general sport flyin. The longer fuse of the ulti's and larger control surfaces on the tail feathers gives me a stronger more stable feel. Just my preference. good luck.

Joeo, I have flown the PAU Ultimate and the QQ Python. Both machines are a lot of fun for 3D but the Ultimate tracks better for precision work. The QQ is bigger than the PAU, but the PAU has better power to weight on the same engine. The QQ has a fatter fuselage with more drag (round cowl), so you'll have a wider speed range with the Ultimate. Both planes draw a crowd as well so it really boils down to which one you think you would like better. The pricing on the Ultimate makes it a great deal.

Sounds like that will definitely work for your Ulty rudder. I might even check into this servo for use on a 40%er that I'm buying servos for. Good luck with the build!
