i may not have a scientific reason behind my fear but i would say get rid of the "y" for sure. try plugging each servo into an individual channel and see if you still get the jittering. there is a smart-fly EQ6 on rcu for @ $200 right now and that would be a viable option for you if your servos are alright. i just hate "y" setups. i have always had some sort of bad luck with them. please don't think that i am bashing anyone that uses this setup, i just haven't been very successful with it myself.... good luck brother. matt |

Understandable with regard to the Y set up........a couple more points of failure. I used a big Y set up on my GP Ultimate and never had a problem but thats not to say one wasn't potentialy around the corner. I'm going try a single servo sans Y connector and see what happens. That will tell if its a servo compatibility issue. Then I'll call Tammies (LHS) tomorrow and see if they have a power expander in stock. If single servos work then the Y's are OUT! (probably out anyway.....sorry Y fans) Chris |

You'll need to send in the servos to Hitec for software updating. What transmitter are you using? If you have enough channels, try putting each aileron servo on its own channel. Eliminating the Y-harness may eliminate the jitters.

You're welcome, get rid of those Y-harnesses and use your radio to its full potential, after all you paid for those 12 channels! Glad you got your servos working right. I think you'll like the independant adjustment of all four servos via the transmitter.

Now that you have each servo on it own channel you can program in a switch option for crow. I use this on my plane and it will stop the plane almost dead over the run way. My field has a really short runway so this helps out alot. And it is really cool to see.

Well....It looks like the maiden is set for tomorrow if I can get all the little things done (and we dont stay out too late.....it's Birthday weekend!). Anybody got any advice on throws for a nice stable first flight? Not much of a 3D'er yet. Wanting more in the IMAC range then I'll dial them up as we go. Chris |

Well.......we maidened the Ultimate out at Dusters this weekend. First flight was a little scary because I think it was a little tail heavy but it could have been a trim thing. I moved the ignition and smoke batteries up front and gave it a smidge of down trim and that seemed to fix it. It was a short flight......I'll do more ringing out when the skies are less grey and my knees stop shaking! More to follow!

Looks cool, CB! Are you sure it wasn't the freezing cold that was making you shake? ![]() Who is Leviton?

I have the prototype model BME 37% Ultimate. Originaly powered with a BME 110. The BME pulled it around nice with no issues to report. I am now flying the bird with a DA 100 stock mufflers ,single 8711 on rudder and 8611a's in all other areas, JR 12x 2.4 and a powersafe receiver with 3 A123 2300 packs. Plane is 31lbs dry unlimited vertical and will hover at 1/3 throttle. I have burnt 12 gallons of fuel flying just this last month and am flying this plane hard. I practice the 2009 Sportsman sequence for about 10 minutes the ring it out for the last 5. For those interested here is my report: Set up is longer than most but I take my time and deal with it I like the DA better than the BME...just seems tho pull the plane better and runs cool always and set it and forget it. The dam thing is holding up very well for being 5+ years old It fly's Great and is a blast to fly...great inverted flat spins For the Money it is hard to beat But when I get the funds I will move my equipment into a Comp-arf 2.6m Yak or 260 and set it aside again for a backup just my 2 cents Lou |
