Skippykix/Flyfalcons; Placing the rudder servo in the rear of the fuse is something that I would really like to do with my Ultimate. I would appreciate it if one or both of you could post pictures of how you did this. I could use pics of the inside of the fuse to figure out how to build up the servo reinforcement. Pics of the outside of the fuse from Skippykix would help me determine where to mount the servo. |

I have attached a few photos of the tail servos that I did on my Ultimate. Basically find the slot where the pull pull wires come out (at the tip of my finger in the picture) and use that as your starting point to make the cut out. Back it up with a couple of small pieces of hardwood glued to the inside where the servo screws will go and thats about it. Use 1.5 inch servo arms for maximum throw and remember your going to have to program the servos either with a programmer if your using Hitec's or with matchbox's if your using JR servos to keep them from binding. It's actually very easy to do and only took about 45 min to an hour to complete . Hope this helps.

This plane has been around for a few years now, and the scheme has stayed the same. My question is, has the design changed at all over the years, or is it still being produced in the same original design scope?

I'm trying to get them to change the Scheme and add can mounts to the design.

can mounts would be nice. the design is really an okay one. we love ours and have several flights on it with no signs of failure anywhere. it is a powerhouse with the 3w 100 on reg muffs. i would like to have cans on it just for the noise but at our field there are no db restrictions.... keep up the good work, it looks great! |

yeah, it's a bit cumbersome at the field but it sure is worth the $$$. it is by far the best 100cc bang for your buck out there right now! and it really appears bigger than it is. i'd tell anyone to go for this model. the build is fairly easy and herve and the gang at PAU are great people to deal with!

+'s -Best price on a 100cc Biplane for the quality -Best support from the PAU gang -'s -1 scheme to choose from -flying wires I wanted one for years........finally won one at the TAS (thanks again PAU for supporting the contest). Now its under recovering and I hope to fly it this summer with cans and servos in the tail.

Check out this actual photo of a full size ultimate 10-200. I found it on www.ultimatebiplane.com This site has a lot of info on the history and specs of the ultimate from the 10-100 all the way to the 20-300 and then some. There are a lot of actual photos and great ideas for schemes.

Oh yea about the flying wires. Its no big deal at all to assemble and disassemble this plane at the field once the flying wires are set up properly. It doesn't take any longer to set up than the hangar 9 46% ULTIMATE that I have flown and it has no flying wires. You still have to run the 4-40 hex heads to fasten the I struts, just put the screw through the flyingwire attatchment then thread it into the I strut. We spend the extra time setting up a plane with an extra wing and flying wires because we love the ULTIMATE!! This plane with this scheme and a good smoke system turns a lot of heads at the field. It is always a rush to fly this plane and it never gets old.

Well I got my Ultimate in the air finally and all I can say is WOW ![]() !! I'm pretty sure my digital postal scale is off because the DA-100 jerks this thing off the ground in about 20 feet, so I thinks it's less than 29 pounds as originally weighed. The harriers and roll rates are unbelievable . If your thinking of getting one of these don't hesitate. It only takes 10 more minutes to put it together compared to my Extra 260, so no biggy on the flying wires. Tame down the low rates on the ailerons because they are very affective as well as the rudder. It floats better than my Extra on landing which kind of blew my away because I was always told you had to fly Ultimates all they way to the ground. My CG is set all the way aft at 2". If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
