Its alot of work but I think the new scheme looks good. Hope to finish it up this week. Did you see the bee that tried to eat my elevator?

Sorry it was in the BellAir Big Bird Fly-In thread. I'm putting it here and in my recover thread.

I went to my trailer to get something. The Ulti was in there with the Elevators on. The right one hadn't been recovered yet. I saw all this foam shavings under the plane and thought a guy building a foamie 2 trailers over was getting dust in my trailer until we heard this loud scratching noise. First thought was surfaces rubbing the side of the trailer. Next thought was a mouse in the fuse. NEVER thought a bee would be borrowing in the foam on the wing. We put some foam safe CA in the hole and he backed out. Then we hit him with kicker. He went in the plane about an inch or more.

Wow, never thought they would do something like that. Good thing you went and checked and heared the noise, other wise he could have had friends and more holes.

Well it was a excellent 2 days of weather and flying. Got about a total of 10 flights when I got disoriented and then dumb thumbed it into the trees. I was a less than a min away from landing, in fact I was coming for a landing (last flight for the day) when I was a little further out than I usually fly. Got disoriented then figured it out, came around then went to level off and gave the wrong aileron input and went inverted. Decided to keep going and do a full roll, but forgot to give a little down elevator while inverted and it spiraled down. I was a little to low and was unable to recover. The plane is a write off, but it looks like the engine and all the electronics are ok. Will check them all over and hang onto them for a future plane. I still have the 36% PAU Edge 540 and 33% H9 Extra 330L to fly. It was a beautiful looking plane. Not bad, first loss of a plane in the 3 years of flying (althought I did come close a few times in my first year).

I watched my H9 Ultimate go uncontrollable into the dirt early this season... it still hurts to think about it. Sorry to hear about your crash.

Thanks to both. It would have been nice to still have her, but I still have other planes to fly and it seems like it was only the plane that was lost (the engine and electronics still look in great shape). I am thinking of ordering another one, but it may not be until the late fall of 2009. Bright side it if I get another, I have all the extensions made up already and all the parts needed. LOL

When it came down, looking at the pieces and the area, it looks like it hit a small tree on the right side and took out the landing gear and wings then spun the plane around braking the fuse in front of and behind the wings.

Very sorry for your misfortune. It's always sad when you come home with more pieces than when you left with.
