Yes, the flying wires are a must use. And they dont make the assembly time take any longer at the field.

The flying wires stay attached to the fuse. You then screw them into the cabanes which need to be screwed down with the same screws. So like John said, no extra time to put the plane together at the field. as a note, I have seen the plane fly without the wires and do some 3-D. The plane appeared to be fine for the few months I saw it do this. BUT! This is not reccomended by the manufacturer though! Since the setup time at the field is the same, I'll be using the wires on mine.

thanks guys.. didn't have a clear picture of how it goes together.... I picked up the fuse this morning and the wings, Cowl and assesories will come by Mail.. too big to get all in the Sequoia to travel back... a couple of other questions: 1) size of spinner? 2) recommendations for supplier of rudder servo tray, hardware linkages, bellcrank and mounts? 3) What are the optimum weights and performance levels should i expect using all titanium pushods? i Noticed pictures in the Manual are showing some carbon fibre rods... 4) preferred position of throttle servo? I'm using a 3W 106i. this will be my first 100cc.. i've built and flown 5 50cc gassers and glow size planes over the last 35 years... thanks... T |

I can't remember the sizes of the linkages I used for everything. I believe I used all H9 Titanium links though with ball ends on each side. I put my throttle servo on the bottom of the motorbox and am using the seacraft alum mount there. I made a threaded rod link for it that is covered with a CF tube. I'm also using the 3W106. I didn't use a rudder tray. I put my servos in the tail (a mod I did). I would guess the SWB tray would be your best bet though (or something similar). I also can't remember the spinner size. I can measure it all later today for you though. Its a large plane so I'd expect 26-29lb range I guessing. I typically don't weigh my planes. Realize not much hardware comes with the plane. Its part of the reason the price of the kit is so low! You get to pick what you want to use.

Thank s guys... Sounds good.... thats a good source H9.... Will likely do the 2 servos on rudder and use the Meter to make sure they match and don't fight against the other.... that sounds cleaner simpler, Lighter and less expensive... I can't think of any downside.... there should be mimimal power drop with 48" extensions you think? I put all in the tail of my Extra 260 like that as well.... I know i'm not that far yet but will work on Graphics next as well.... May try to go to Lipo batteries now with this one as well... I've not used them in gassers yet only the Foamies... T |

I recommend using the flying wires as well. You will see when you put the plane together the flex the wings can have without the wires attached. Put the wires on (only take the slack out of the wire with a very small amount of tension like one turn after taking the play out) and you will see how solid the wings become. I personally think it makes for a better flying plane as the wings will flex a lot less with the flying wires being used.

I have a few flights on mine now, All I can say is the extra work and money involved in building is DEFINATELY worth it, Its a fantastic flyer and cant wait to get it out for some more flights. Maiden flight took 0 trim and Knife edge is great! I must have magically nailed the setup some how... It does Feel a little bit nose heavy with the DL111 up front (Inverted dives just slightly) but I dont think I'll change a thing with the setup, Its that good. I havent weighed it yet but Personally Not really concerned with it either.
