Hi guy, mine is power by ZDZ100ng black head, with K&S 86v4 canister and vess 27a at 6000rpm.pulling power is awesome ,and mine is pretty HEAVY(34 pounds dry). It fly great, with no bad habits. I want to know, why is so heavy? I run 1 servo by surface(2 on rudder),my engine is light and canister also, the only weight i had is the smoke pump and tank. I see on the forum 27 to 29,where the error? I like it very much it's the best ultimate i fly, I have goldberg with YS120, Ohio 62" with ZDZ60cc(great flyer too),Precision built 30% with 3W78(Glide like a rock)and now the bme 37%. I plan to buy and other one. |

ultimatebipe, How well do you trust your scale? What other equipment do you have installed (battery size/type, smoke pump battery, etc...)? It is fairly easy to add a couple grams here, an ounce or two there, and end up with two or three extra pounds. However, 34lbs with that engine seems very high. On another note, I personally do not obsess over measurements or numbers: if my plane flies well, I don't really care to know what it weighs: I just go out and have lots of fun with it. |

Anyone here using the PAU propellers for a 100 on stock mufflers for the 37% Ultimate? If so, which prop and what type of flying style (3D, IMAC, or just flying around)? How do they compare to other props you have used on this plane? How noisey or quiet are they compared to others?

I was using the 27*10 PAU laminated propeller from breakin to broken in and it is a great prop. The type of flying I do is IMAC, freestyle ACRO and some basic 3D. The only reason I'm not still using it is I must have picked up a rock in Chatanooga TN at the 3D Jam and chipped the tip. I used a buddies 27A VESS and it became a different airplane. The vertical was awesome even with 32oz of Gas and 32oz of smoke oil on board. The cost difference is not that much but the performance difference is. The problem with the VESS is the tips are very thin and could be split by hitting the tip on the door frame of a truck on the way out to fly which would then render a 53$ prop useless. Not that that happened to me . The PAU is much more durable. Hope that helps.Chris

So I have a spare BME 102 that came out of a 33% H9 Extra 330L. Since I stuffed my GP 29% Ultimate during our airshow, I've really been jonesing for another Ulti. I saw this banner ad and though that the price is definitely in the ball park. I know the BME 102 is not quite up to the power standard of the other 100cc class engines but combined with its exceptional light weight, do you think this would be a good fit? Chris Elliott OMAS |

Hey Chris I think you would be fine with that motor. There are guys flying with old 3w 100's and ZDZ's that don't make the power the DA or 3W makes. Don't put smoke onboard and keep the weight down and your in there. You won't be dissapointed with the plane. Chris L

Ken's gonna kill me. I've had the plane for 1yr exactly now. And its still in the box! I even have everything I need for it sitting in a couple ziploc bags as well.

Sweetpea, If Ken doesn't, maybe I should! Ha Ha... I hope to come up your way again next summer, and I hope to see you fly your Ultimate by then. I just have to remember to bring warmer clothes than last July! |
