Khan,

One is powered by a ZDZ-100 and the other a DA-100. Both are flown with JR. A single 8611 on all surfaces except the rudder. A single 8711 for that.

I'll be doing a similar one (sometime in th fall) with a 3W106 for power and probably the same on the servos (though I may put 8411's on the ailerons and 8711's on rudder and elevator....just depends what I have at the time)

I will also be recovering mine with a new scheme.

I have one with a BME110 for power with menz 28x10 on it now but I did fly with a Vess prop also, 8411s on the wings, and 8611s on the tail section. Unreal flight an power to weight.

sweet it seems to me that weight wise on a ulitmate is handled by the motor different than a mono plane. Not sure what I am saying lol..... but the weight on my Ultimates all seem to be crazy power when compared to a mono plane of the same weight......

Crackedup what does that 110 swing that 28 x 10 prop (range) doesn't have to be the down to the number since someone may not like your RPM compared to theirs lol

Can you post some pics of your setup.

This will be the engine for mine most likely.

Ken
I am curious as to why you would say that the "BME" makes a "great combo" with this airplane. I have a BME 110 in this airframe (on stock mufflers) and cannot keep it cool enough to do any more than about 30 seconds of 3-D (stalled) maneuvers before the CHT's rise above 320 degrees. I have tried 3 different baffle designs including one that forces ALL OF THE INCOMING AIR across the cooling fins and have nrver experienced enough cooling capacity to properly cool the BME 110 in this plane doing 3-D manuvers. If you have used this engine/airframe with success then please tell me how I can keep this engine cool enough so that it will not self destruct doing 3-D. The plane flys great and the engine has awesome power, I'm just not sure the engine is up to 3-D within this airframe.

Hi BF,

Mine has a ZDZ and I hardly even baffle it. I live here on the NW coast and temps barely get above 70. I had it in Vegas at a 100 degrees last year however with no issues there as well. I just took some depron and placed it in the bottom inlet of the cowl to make sure air does not dive under the motor going in. I've flown others with the BME 110 and it was insanely powerful compared with the ZDZ I have in mine. I would suggest if you've already tried to rich-en it up and have baffled it, send it in to BME for service. Sounds like a motor issue.

hey ken, what size prop are you swinging on the ZDZ 100, because i wanna try out the standard 28x10 prop.
